[METADATA] SDG rating
The proposed project touches upon the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a number of ways:
- No Poverty (SDG 1): The project does not directly address poverty; however, by donating the funds raised to the UNHCR, it will indirectly contribute to the mitigation of poverty. UNHCR works tirelessly to protect and assist refugees and displaced people, many of whom are in situations of extreme poverty. By raising funds for this organization, the project indirectly helps those in poverty by providing them with the necessary assistance to rebuild their lives.
- Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10): The fundraising aspect of the project actively contributes to this goal. Refugees and displaced people often face significant inequality, not only in their home countries but also in their host countries. The funds raised will help UNHCR in its work to reduce these inequalities by providing aid and services to those who are most in need.
- Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16): The art project uses AI to generate 88 unique NFTs, each representing a world without conflict. This embodies a symbolic representation of the peace goal. Moreover, by advocating for peace and a world without conflict through this project, it contributes to a broader conversation on peace and justice. The generated funds will be used to support the efforts of UNHCR, an international institution dedicated to maintaining peace, providing justice to refugees, and helping build strong institutions in areas of conflict.
While the project may not directly and fully address these SDGs, its contributions through advocacy, fundraising, and supporting an organization that is working towards these goals are significant. It's a fine example of how creative and innovative projects can lend support to serious global initiatives like the SDGs.
[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.
Chadi Nassar, a digital AI generative artist, will create 88 unique NFTs, each visualizing a peaceful world without conflict, based on UNHCR's 8 ongoing emergencies. This unique collection titled "Faces 04 - A world without conflict," highlights what can be instead of what is, spreading positivity and awareness. Funds raised from the sale will predominantly benefit UNHCR, hence, providing sustainable financial support for their initiatives. He plans on giving all the funds from the project to the UNHCR if this proposal goes through. This project will also introduce new users to the Cardano ecosystem through the appeal of NFTs and will be the basis of future fundraising efforts for the UNCHR since Chadi Nassar plans on continuing the efforts in future campaigns.
[IMPACT] How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?
Even though this is an open challenge, the proposal addresses the challenge by offering a creative way to fundraise for global emergencies while engaging new users through the NFT platform on the Cardano blockchain. It brings diversity, innovation, and humanitarian aspect into the ecosystem, enhancing Cardano's reputation as a blockchain for positive change. This project is expected to reach at least 1000+ new users and expose them to the Cardano network.
[IMPACT] How do you intend to measure the success of your project?
The success of the project will be measured by the number of NFTs sold, funds raised for UNHCR, and the number of new users on boarded to the Cardano ecosystem and reached through the campaign. We will also assess the online engagement and publicity the project receives.
[IMPACT] Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?
We will regularly update the community via social media platforms and Cardano forums about the project progress. Once the campaign is completed, a detailed report will be made publicly available showing funds raised, new users onboarded, and other impact metrics.
[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

[RESOURCES & VALUE FOR MONEY] How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?
- Direct financial return: While the primary aim of the project is not profit-driven, there's potential (NFA) for the NFTs to appreciate in value, offering a return on investment to those who purchase them. This in itself can draw new investors to the Cardano ecosystem, increasing its value.
- Social Impact: By associating the Cardano platform with charitable causes and sustainable development goals, we can demonstrate the utility of blockchain for achieving social good. This could attract more social impact projects to Cardano and increase its reputation as a platform for altruistic endeavors.
- Increasing Visibility and Awareness: By utilizing the Cardano blockchain for this high-profile initiative, the project will increase visibility and awareness of Cardano amongst potential users, developers, and investors. This could drive wider adoption of the platform, making it more valuable in the long run.
- Catalyst for Further Development: Showcasing Cardano's capabilities and user-friendliness for minting and trading NFTs can attract artists and creatives to the platform. This can spur further development and innovation in the Cardano NFT space, thereby making it a more attractive platform for a wide range of projects.
- Reputation and Trust: The transparency, accountability, and decentralization offered by the Cardano blockchain used in this project can help build trust and credibility in the system. This is particularly important for social impact projects, which often require a high level of transparency and accountability to attract donors.
- Community Building: The project also presents an opportunity for community building within the Cardano ecosystem. The campaign could engage and rally the Cardano community around a shared cause, promoting a sense of unity and shared purpose, which is invaluable for the long-term health and vibrancy of the ecosystem.
In conclusion, while the project requires a certain level of funding, the potential returns—both tangible and intangible—exceed the initial cost. The multifaceted value created through increased visibility, social impact, community building, and potential for future development makes this project a smart and strategic investment for the Cardano ecosystem.
