We will assemble a team to build upon the work started by Adalite, expanding the functionality of BitBox02 to serve as a comprehensive hardware wallet for Cardano. Additionally, we aim to enable signature capabilities, which are currently lacking in Ledger.

[IMPACT] How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?

This project will broaden the range of useful hardware wallets beyond Ledger. As Ledger is heading towards open-source, it is advantageous to have hardware wallets that are inherently open-source.

The objective is to succeed in this project and subsequently explore other open-source hardware wallets. By doing so, Cardano will have a wider array of options for securing private keys, surpassing reliance on Ledger alone.

[IMPACT] How do you intend to measure the success of your project?

A repo that has all the software needed for wallet developers and Dapp developers to easily intergrate Bitbox02 into their wallets or Dapps.

[IMPACT] Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?

All code will be public and open source. The wallet that receives funds will be known so that all payments can be traced by the public. I will make an ADA handle that will make it easy to track if this project is green lit.

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?

I am a DevOps engineer with 3 years experience. I know I'm not strong enough to develop the solution on my own but managing the project is something I can do. I feel that because part of this has been done only for ADAlite, there is a path to follow to push BitBox02 up to and past Ledgers current offerings.

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?

The goals is to take what Adalite did with Bitbox02 and expand it so that its easy to intergrate for other projects and give more options to Cardano users who are picking a hardware wallet.

[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.

First is to hire 2 developers who can do this, I can code but I'm not good enough to do this. The Developers picked for this will have to come from the Cardano community and hopefully they are from a wallet shop.

Second, break down what Adalite did and review the intergration documentation from Bitbox02. Since Adalite was able to do it we can take where they started and move on to device signing and intergrating with other cardano wallets.

I hope the community of Cardano wallet developers would be able to help me find people for this project since it would benifit them having another hardware wallet intergrated with their wallet.

The Deliverables will be an updated git repo of the tools needed to intergrate Bitbox02

I believe this is doable because it was done by Adalite, but it was only made for their wallet app.

Once complete it will always be there and copied to other repos that can ensure it survives.

30,000 ADA : Each Developer

10,000 ADA : Development expenses.

My fee will NOT change.

If the Development expense are less than what is allocated, the leftovers will be divided between the Developers, I am not included in that, I will only get 5,000ADA.

[RESOURCES & VALUE FOR MONEY] How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

The benefit is that Ledger is no longer the sole hardware wallet option for Cardano. Having multiple choices for safeguarding the private key is crucial.
