[METADATA] Category of Proposal
dApp
[METADATA] SDG rating
- Creating jobs
- Plays a role in the economic elevation
[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.
At Xerxis, the parent of this project, we set out to create a dApp for writers of any form to save their drafts(as well as complete works) and showcase their work without risking losing copyrights, plagiarism, and they will be able to use it for free until 25 uploads.
The dApp uses the Atala Prism SDK to access the Cardano blockchain for storing and retrieving data.
The data will be saved in an encrypted format to keep the secrecy. The authors can enter the part of their works for intro purposes. The main work (or the full work) will stay encrypted to the public and only the owner will be able to see it.
[IMPACT] How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?
The more the solution is usable in real-world scenarios, the better the impression of Cardano. The capacity of the Cardano technology will get to be demonstrated on a serious matter. That will create deeper roots of respect for Cardno which then induces adoration. These effects influence users' decisions to use apps built on Cardano. The side effects would be more tendency for the acquisition of the ADA Cryptocurrency as these effects amplify thoughts of the bright futures of Cardano.
[IMPACT] How do you intend to measure the success of your project?
In our Success measurements user adoption takes the bigger portion. In equivalent weight, the usability of our application(esp. the blockchain part of it) should be able to demonstrate the fine-high-tech Cardano Blockchain.
To list them:
- Great use adoption
- Solving the problem we aim to solve
- Creating a better impression of Cardano
- Usability of our dApp
- The revenue generated will be enough to maintain the dApp
- Attracting contributions from the open-source community once the project is launched
- Many pull requests
- Secrecy of users' work maintained successfully
[IMPACT] Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?
We would utilize various options of media and mediums for promotion, be it social media or through people in our network.
[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?
We are a team of well-experienced professional Web3 developers who have a track of planning and delivering properly developed web3 products. Our team has experience developing on both Ethereum and Cardano. We have a significant disposition for carrying out a well-informed decision.
Each of our team is involved in Cardano communities and has a reputation to protect aside from the personal characteristics of integrity.
The product we aim to build on Cardno has been already built and tested on Ethereum two years ago by one of our developers. We chose Cardano for multiple reasons one being the cheaper transaction fees that make the business side more feasible.
Although we have to build 90 percent of the product from scratch, all the workflow, pseudocode, and User interface is already there for any use while development.
These factors, we believe, can provide us with a good foundation to build the product responsibly and deliver the product on time.
[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?
Our main goals can be described as:
- Solving a real-world problem
- Showcasing Cardano can be used to build a solution for problems in the communities day to day activity.
- Big user acquisition on Cardano's products.
- Long-term positive impact on Cardanos Vision
[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.
Milestone one: Laying the Foundations, Done in the first 2 weeks of the project.
- Interpreting the already existing architecture into the context of Cardano (Layed out on Miro bord)
- Determining the tools for specific features of the project (in the Miro board)
- Database design (Document format)
Milestone two: Stage One development, to be done in two months.
- Frontend is up and running with a few of the basic features like connecting with wallet, creative work uploading form, and listing the uploaded ones on the home page (open for public, no login needed for the sake of more attraction with less restriction.)
- The API processes and saves user data (address, uploaded information). (This feature will diverge into more advanced features that will be built on the next milestone)
- records some of the user data into Cardano using Atala Prism.
- Appropriate database interaction with the backend.
Milestone three: Deep Development - using Atala Prism to the fullest, done in three months.
- Our API encrypts the confidential data and stores it in a safe manner in the Atala Prism
- Proper technical measures will be taken not to overload the Cardano blockchain with too much data
- to create the identity of each user(a writer) on Cardano
- In the Frontend, only the owner of a work is able to retrieve the confidential part of the work.
- an author can create a post for promotion by filling out a form
- the created post would be available for public view
- Database stores and does all the proper CRUD operations on the data through the API
Milestone four: Bug fixing - done in two months
- Looking for bugs and fixing them
- Test them with users and make feasible adjustments.
Milestone Five: Official Launch of the product - done in one week
- Promoting on Social media,
- Join Twitter spaces with other projects regular
- Promotion with Digital Marketing
- Organise Physical events partnering with relevant public organizations or figures related to tech or writings, books, Scripts, and so on.
[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] Please describe the deliverables, outputs and intended outcomes of each milestone.
- Milestone one outputs:
- Fully laid-out architecture and system design on the Miro board
- Database design on Miro board
Milestone two outputs:
- Working frontend with basic functionalities like user authentication and document submission forms
- Database ready with tables for the appropriate features on this milestone
- API interacts with the front end and the database to process and store user data
Milestone three outputs: - Multiple bugs can be found at this stage.
- The dApp is running and functions in a fully decentralized manner
- it allows users to authenticate as writers
- authenticated users are able to store their information or documents and retrieve it
- authenticated users will get a Decentralized identity that includes the name and links to their works, and personal information.
- users can put their works up for sale or publishing
- Random site visitors can view the publicly posted works.
[RESOURCES & VALUE FOR MONEY] Please provide a detailed budget breakdown of the proposed work and resources.
- Developer team compensation of a total of $ 28,800:
- Three developers with a cost of $3,600 a month
- Marketing and Launching of a total cost of $9,300:
- Digital Marketing
- Event's cost for Launching the product
- Graphic designs
- Cloud hosting for one year on a pay-as-you-go subscription is roughly about $900
- Testing and bug fixing is estimated to take up to $1000
- Transaction fees
- the incentive for rigorous user testing team - paid by a number of real bugs found.
[RESOURCES & VALUE FOR MONEY] How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?
The $40,000 investment in our project will inspire more user adoption for Cardano for three main reasons:
- The project will be fully open source. So that it can be used for educational purposes, for developers to build more on it, and make a business out of it or more. This has multiple positive impacts on Cardano, such as allowing easier divergence from other on-chain developments to Cardano since it can lessen the steep learning curve a bit,
- The project will solve the actual problem of plagiarism which makes it potentially in demand, hence carrying the name of Cardano everywhere it goes, which in turn causes a bit more surge for acquiring ADA for this type of product speaks the usability, realness of Cardano and potential utility ADA can bring.
- The project is long-term. It's aimed to stick around for as long as the solution is needed. We are committed to keeping user engagement by building a sustainable maintenance model supported by small fees from users after a year of our launch(which is more or less after the end of our cloud hosting package).
We believe we can bring inspiration to the developers especially those in Africa, and our approaches and outputs have desirable effects on Cardano's visions.
[IMPORTANT NOTE] The Applicant agreed to Fund10 rules and also that data in the Submission Form and other data provided by the project team during the course of the project will be publicly available.
