Lack of Spanish content for the Cardano Project
Provide Spanish video materials educating and keeping Hispanic community informed about the Cardano Project
This is the total amount allocated to Cardano in Spanish 2.
Team of only one person.
No dependencies
Project will be fully Open Source
4 Quality Education
The solution is to continue with the work already being done since + 4 years ago, which is the transcription + dubbing + editing + publishing of Cardano related videos in Spanish language.Â
Provide the Hispanic community with relevant educational materials and keep it updated with the latest news, releases and projects of the Cardano ecosystem. Most translated content comes from Charles Hoskinson, IOHK, Emurgo and Cardano Foundation youtube channels. But there were also several others published videos which sources come from several interviews provided by Charles, twitter spaces, etc.
The Hispanic community is the second in size and consists of +20 countries, located in more than just one continent, with very different cultures. These assets will not only result in a stronger and more resilient overall Cardano community, but also will be onboarding many new members through the coming years. In some sense, these videos are like a library. Through the Youtube panel control we can see that also (not at the same rate though) old videos are being watched by the community.
This is a constant, non stop and long term endeavor. It already began 4 years ago and if we are willing for a stronger Cardano, it should continue in the years to come. A stronger Hispanic Cardano community means a stronger worldwide Cardano community.
By continuing to witness an increasing interest from the Hispanic community to learn about the Cardano Project, to be part of its community and also to build on it.Â
Key Performance Indicators
(Please note that there are existing audience "flows", periodical ups and downs of total views that will impact these KPIs (mostly due to bear and bull markets). But overall, we are seeing a continuous increase in the total number of people watching the Cardano Castellano Youtube channel.
The most basic success of the project can be measured by the number of transcripted words and published videos.
All the work being done can easily be checked through the Cardano Castellano Youtube Channel. Also, each video has its respective Spanish transcription published at the Cardano Forum.
Number of videos to be published: The aim is to publish one translated video every day, sometimes more. If no original content is published or a quite long video is released, the channel may spend a few days before being able to share content again.
Duration of videos: This will mainly depend on the length of the original content. For audience convenience, Charles AMAs, Cardano 360 episodes, and long interviews are usually cut in several pieces, in those cases more than one video per day may be shared. Besides that, the aim is to respect the original duration of the videos.
How many minutes of video per month does this represent?
Roughly original videos have a pace of 140 words per minute, this means that around 285 minutes (almost 5hs) of Spanish content will be published per month.
Relevant experience :
+ 1.6k already published videos in the "Cardano Castellano" Youtube channel
+ 10k Subscribers, + 800k Total Views, + 70k Total Watch time (hours)
The main goals are to continue increasing Cardano awareness through the Hispanic community, bring them valuable content, keep them informed about the progress of the project.
Feasibility: Videos have been released for more than 48 months, only in 6 of them with support from Catalyst Fund 7. Being funded will assure that the Hispanic community will continue to receive Spanish Cardano content.
As per reaching milestones the main tasks are related to pre production. That means making the transcriptions, word by word, of each video, which is the most time consuming task, then dubbing, editing, etc. Timeline for delivery is to try to publish videos everyday. Please note that if no original English content is published or a quite long video is released, the channel may spend a few days before being able to share content again. Overall, the main milestone is to transcript and dub 40k words per month.
One could say that the project has an almost daily milestone of sharing content. Videos are also shared through the @CardanoenCast Twitter account and in the main Hispanic Cardano Telegram channels, where newcomers are suggested to follow the Cardano Castellano Youtube channel. The intended outcome is to continue growing the community, keep it engaged and informed, the community is "waiting" for new content to be released.Â
Budget is based on 40k transcripted words per month, during a six month period, any published quantity above that will not increase the required budget.
Budget per word is $0.02 (this includes transcription, dubbing, editing, publishing)
Monthly: 40k words x $0.02 = $800
x 6 months = $4,800
Current Ada value (June 24th 2023): $0.29
Total value in Ada: 16,500Â
As mentioned above, the Hispanic community is huge, growing, and thriving. A lot of new projects and great new ideas are coming from this community. Regarding the budget, what the proposal offers is way cheaper in comparison with what the market is charging just for translations, (please note that transcriptions is a much harder work), also adding voice, editing, etc, at the same low budget.
Just me, only one person. I would like to hire at least one more voice, mainly for videos that have more than one speaker . But that would increase budget and chances for proposal of not getting funded.
