Apps by their nature seek to address user needs. Much of app design is guesswork on end-user needs. Direct quantitative insight into users' psychology is missing.
Using neuroscience, state-of-mind-as-a-service for use cases and everyday life, suitable for web3 use, e.g. authentication. Development of key algorithms and integration with hardware EEG headset.
This is the total amount allocated to State-of-mind-as-a-service (SoMaaS).

This proposal may involve R&D for a project that is being designed to sit on Cardano. Some of the work is privacy-sensitive and aspects of it have been submitted for a patent. Until the patent is cleared, it is not in the interest of the proposer or Cardano community for it to be public. The project also takes user privacy seriously, so these aspects cannot be public/open-source.
SDG Goals
3 - Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
SDG Subgoals
3.4 - By 2030, reduce by one third premature mortality from non-communicable diseases through prevention and treatment and promote mental health and well-being

The future of web3 will entail direct interaction with biometrics, especially in the age of AI, where proof of humanness is essential. The brain is the most complex organ and is arguably the signature of humanness. This project aims to do necessary R&D on the brain to allow it to merge with web3 in a way that can be turned into a product.
Neuralprint is a broader project, and this proposal specifically is for the foundational work required to create a SoMaaS toward product form. The bottom of this section details the kinds of datasets that are anticipated to be analysed for establishing key SoMaaS functionalities. Below is information about Neuralprint, as a broader project, which has undergone initial R&D on general authentication of a user and is patent-pending. Risk mitigation strategies are found at the endof this section.
This proposals comes on the heels of three previous successful and closed-out Catalyst proposals (1 in F7, 2 in F8), all executed by the proposer. The present proposal builds upon previous work.
Neuralprint
Next Generation Biometric Identity, Authentication, Permissioning, And Security
<< Neuralprint technology is Patent-pending >>
Company Purpose:
The Problem:
Security Solutions Today Are Expensive, Clunky, Hard To Implement, And Aren’t As Secure As Advertised. They Also Suffer From A Lack Of Nuance.
The Solution:
Neuralprint’s System Is Unique, Fast, Easily Measurable, Inexpensive, And Easy To Install
Why Now?
Existing Systems Aren’t As Secure As Advertised. Ours Is. Static Today; Dynamic Learning System Tomorrow That Enables Greater Functionality.
Market Size:
The Global Cyber Security Market (TAM) Is $249 Billion.
By 2027, 50% of large enterprise CISOs will adopt human-centric security design practices. Cybersecurity threats are changing.

Anticipated R&D areas for determining the neural correlates of states of mind relevant to SoMaaS:
Risk mitigation:
SoMaaS will be the next frontier of most everyday user apps, and crypto will be involved in much of it. This is a cutting-edge, first of its kind, project -- and it is being developed for Cardano.
The proposed project brings a novel technology to Cardano, making Cardano a first-mover chain in the space. This proposal poises Cardano to be used in a key technology in the world. It also builds on and adds functionality to existing products (successful, closed-out proposals from F7, F8).
This proposal thereby fulfills criteria of the Challenge, including the following metrics:
The success of the project will be determined by completed work on brain and biometric functions and use-cases, getting LOI's with early partners, and by compatibility/integration with EEG biometric hardware.
This project will be shared at a high-level on social media and through follow-on fundraising, and sensitive aspects will not. High-level social media / marketing will be conducted to share key happenings.
Evidenced by the proposer's handful of past successful and closed out Catalyst proposals, future performance can be expected.
Feasibility has been confirmed. The goals are to complete technical work enables SoMaaS of key use-case activities of users. This will later allow these to be codified on the blockchain.

An exchange rate of $0.28/ADA (reflecting the rate at the time of this writing) has been used for budget calculation.
All costs will be commensurate to majority of wages and capital required to execute. Due to the high value-add scientific and engineering work required of the proposal, costs are above average in order to rapidly secure the human resource talent and equipment needed to conduct the work.
