Today, no hardware device exists to produce a source of True RNG that leverages the Cardano Blockchain.
Develop a physical hardware device that derives entropy from the Cardano Blockchain along with a quantum random number generator.
This is the total amount allocated to True RNG Device Powered by the Cardano Blockchain.
None
No dependancies
Project will be fully open source.
Our proposal is to build a custom hardware device, with an open source operating system, for the sole purpose of derriving Random Numbers that leverage the Cardano Blockchain as an additional source of Entropy. This hardware device would require the development of custom hardware that isolates its network connectivity for its connection to the blockchain, while keeping the RNG source interface only accessible through a physical connection. This circuit board would integrate a Quantum Random Number Generator, that produce millions of random numbers per second, to at a minimum comply with Nevada gaming RNG requirements.
Many games, and NFT delivery platforms require the use of Random Number Generation to determine the outcome of what is provided to its intended audience. Our product would leverage the Cardano Blockchain for some of its entropy, thus creating a complete RNG solution that is powered by the blockchain itself. Because it will be fully open source, any project that leverages this hardware would meet a known community standard for its source of RNG.
Success will be achieved through being able to produce demonstrably random number generation.
Because the project will be fully open source, all testing and results will be available to the public.
Because of the novel design, it isnt possible to guarantee a functional product. However, the delivery team has tremendous experience in all of the key technologies that will be needed to develop the solution. The feasibility should be considered to be medium/high.
The first objective is to develop automation to consume real time blockchain activity, and produce an entropy pool with this activity.
The second objective will be to produce a functional hardware device to integrate the QRNG chip.
The third objective is to customize a linux build to combine all of this in to a single output interface.
Months 1 - 4 - Procure potential development hardware (arduino boards, bread boards, etc), as well as QRNG chips from www.idquantique.com.
Months 5 - 6 - Write containerized tools to produce RNG output
Months 7 - 9 - Test, debug, and demonstrate product functionality
Post 9 months - Begin production of device for public use
Primary deliverable is to prove efficacy of RNG source device, and have it independently tested for demonstrable randomization.
Hardware required to develop TRNG device - ~50,000 Ada
R&D - 25,000 Ada
The value this adds is creating a device that enhances community trust in projects that are part of our ecosystem.
