We have emerging partners, but no resources to help them facilitate workshops, cleanups, and community events.
We need resources to help our partners showcase the real-world potential of our technology and make contributes to its future direction
This is the total amount allocated to Supporting OpenLitterMap Events.
HOT OSM - Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team and Codeando Mexico are already planning several events across Latin America with our app to map dumpsites, problem and anti-social areas with various community groups.
No dependencies
Project will be fully open source

We need support to run more community events to grow our community
We will run open source hackathon events at Universities across the world and invite them to collaborate on the development of openlittermap
Number of events and the impact they can make
eg number of participants, trash removed, data collected, ideas generated, open source PRs contributed, new direction for the future, continued use of our app
Everything we do is open source. The results and details of these events will be included in our weekly updated and quarterly reports.
Have been working on the development of open source plastic pollution research independently since 2008. Going to do this in the best way possible, with support from the catalyst community would be a huge benefit to the work.
We will run more events
First we will find more groups and partners who share an interest in a half day of community work
We will run an event with them, teaching how to use our app, and onboarding their feedback into our development process.
Every group and partnership we make, will encourage more people to get involved.
After the first few pilots, we will launch the LITTERWEEK campaign for schools and wider society with the movement created from these events.
All of the money will be invested into the community to help them run events.
Supporting the development of intergenerational open source digital public goods is excellent value for money as mitigating problems like plastic pollution costs exponentially more as it begins to fragment indefinitely.

Members from HOT OSM - The Humanitarian OpenStreetMap team are global leaders in pioneering data collection after natural disasters strike, are interested in using our app to run community-lead dumping and anti-social/problem area mapping events across Latin America this year. This proposal is designed to support them and others like them.
