The proposed solution is to launch a comprehensive initiative that educates and integrates a major sports team with Cardano's blockchain technology. This involves conducting in-depth needs analyzes to understand the team's specific challenges and readiness for blockchain adoption and developing tailored materials and workshops for the sports team. The goal is to bridge the knowledge gap in blockchain technology within the sports industry, drive innovation, enhance fan engagement, create new revenue opportunities, and foster long-term collaboration and growth for both the sports organization and the Cardano ecosystem.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
The Chicago Cubs are an American professional baseball team based in Chicago. The Cubs compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member of the National League (NL) Central Division. The club plays its home games at Wrigley Field, which is located on Chicago's North Side.
Throughout the club's history, the Cubs have played in a total of 11 World Series. The Cubs won back-to-back World Series championships in 1907 and 1908, becoming the first major league team to play in three consecutive World Series, and the first to win it twice. Most recently, the Cubs won the 2016 National League Championship Series and 2016 World Series, which ended a 71-year National League pennant drought and a 108-year World Series championship drought, both of which are record droughts in Major League Baseball. The 108-year drought was also the longest such occurrence in all major sports leagues in the United States and Canada.
The Cubs are ranked as the #1 team in Baseball for global awareness - beating the Yankees. They are continually innovative and have showcased or brought thought multiple technology solutions. They have often been the first "proactive" mover to innovation in Baseball.
This proposal aims to develop blockchain use cases across multiple properties owned by the Chicago Cubs organization, including their MLB team, the NWSL's Chicago Red Stars (Soccer), and various other business interests.
Chicago Cubs have a number of partners including Valence (Web3), Motorola, Kraft Heinz, Coca-Cola, THK, Wintrust, AB INbev, Toyota and many others.
Our solution is to create a specialized initiative focused on blockchain technology for Chicago Cubs to increase their current maturity. This program will:
We will leverage Stadia's industry connections and Cardano's blockchain expertise to deliver high-quality, relevant content. The program will cover topics such as decentralization, transparency, tokenization, enhanced security, and fan engagement through blockchain technologies.
We will collaborate with key companies in the ecosystem such as NMKR, stuff.io, Neucast.io, Andamio to develop the best use cases for Sport teams.
Our approach is unique as it focuses on understanding the needs and offering concrete use cases without initial sales pressure, allowing Chicago Cubs to make more informed decisions about blockchain adoption and further develop or enhance their strategy. This initiative will benefit the entire Cardano ecosystem by driving mid/long-term users & adoption in a significant global industry.
In 2025, we additionally plan to organize a minimum of one (1) panel discussions featuring Cardano alongside Chicago Cubs leadership to showcase its work, approach, and philosophy within the sector. This will drive the conversation to companies/brands in the Sports industry.
By engaging Chicago Cubs, as the initial organization - over time we aim to foster a thriving ecosystem that empowers blockchain innovation in the sports sector.
We are piloting an innovative go to market approach that will be tailored for US sports team with focus on baseball that can be used as an example for other teams
