No universally accessible tool that utilizes maps as a user interface is available on Cardano. This limits real-world applications and on-chain activity that could be catalyzed by such a product.
This is the total amount allocated to Decentralized Geographic Map User Interface for Cardano.
We will build an interactive map tool with cadaster and satellite layers, providing an open product for land management, spatial data integration, and transparency for dApps on the Cardano blockchain.
No dependencies.
The Landano project will issue an Apache 2.0 license for the intellectual works it creates, along with any software artifacts that are produced as a result. See https://docs.landano.io/d/technical-architecture
We will develop a decentralized, interactive map product built as a Mendix plugin on the Cardano blockchain, integrating both cadastral and satellite data layers, that can be used by anyone. This will provide developers, entrepreneurs, and activists with powerful tools to create, deploy, and enhance all new or existing projects related to land management, spatial data, and environmental initiatives–or any dApp that could make use of a geographic user interface.
Our project will provide the Cardano community with an open, decentralized mapping tool that can be integrated into various dApps, enabling land management, urban planning, and environmental monitoring. This fosters innovation, transparency, and real-world utility, increasing Cardano’s value.
By offering a transparent and open-source product, this product will allow developers and users to apply land and spatial geographical data and information more easily, fostering greater trust and collaboration. Our platform will serve as a catalyst for innovators, empowering them with the resources and infrastructure needed to bring creative solutions to life in the areas of land administration, sustainability, and community-driven development.
Impact Measurement:
Quantitative:
Number of developers and projects adopting the tool.
Number of transactions generated through map usage (e.g., land tokenization).
Active land parcels or geographical data uploaded and used.
Qualitative:
Feedback from developers and users on usability and effectiveness.
Reduction in land disputes or improved land management reports from projects utilizing the tool.

To accommodate for the fluctuation in ADA price, which creates a conversion risk and a potential budget shortfall, we are using the October 2023 historical low (October 2023) base price of $0.25 ADA to calculate our expenses.
We will employ 1 senior Mendix software engineers ($130/hr = 520 ADA/hr), 1 systems analyst ($100/hr = 400 ADA/hr) and 1 project manager ($100/hr = 400 ADA/hr) to complete this work over a three month period. The systems analyst role includes requirements analysis, documentation, user acceptance testing and community management.

By creating a previously undeveloped capability for Cardano, the project demonstrates its practical utility and broadens Cardano’s use cases. The development of reusable APIs adds long-term value by enabling other projects to build upon this infrastructure, making the investment highly scalable.
When implemented, the benefits to the Cardano community at large and the Cardano blockchain are vast and manifold, greatly outweighing the value as expressed in ADA or any fiat currency, quantitatively. This platform will allow users and developers to utilize a geographic user interfact for relevant dApps on Cardano, which should directly lead to more transactions.
These rates are competitive with standard consulting fees for these services, allowing team members to devote attention to this project that will result in its success. Additionally, the budget is well-distributed across development, project management, security, and marketing.
