Charitable donations have been going through a drought in the past year due to struggling markets, leaving charities desperate for any funding they can find. Together, we can help.
This is the total amount allocated to Grabbit | Onchain Charity Registry.
We’ll create Cardano onboarding guides specifically for charities, an onchain registry for charities, an SDK for interacting with the registry, & create a public registration form for ease of use.
No
The registry SDK will be fully open sourced so that other projects can also easily integrate onto their site, as will the user-facing frontend. Everything in the project will be open source.
There are 5 key components to this project:
By providing an easy, obvious and useful location for charities to onboard, we can provide vital funding to charities, provide utility to Cardano users, and onboard new users who care about charitable giving.
At Grabbit we have been hoping for an opportunity to use our position to benefit a variety of charities for some time, and have built up a network of friendships & partnerships with connections to ~20,000 charitable organizations.
Together we expect to be able to onboard hundreds to thousands of charities to Cardano.
Pre-registration Repository & Schema
Set up a public repository for charities to pre-register to, allowing for early outreach to charities that may be interested in being involved.
Define the data schema to be used for registrations.
Onboarding Guides
A collection of documentation hosted publicly that explains everything a non-technical charity representative may need to understand about Cardano to be able to receive donations at a wallet address.
Onchain Contracts
A series of open-source onchain contracts used to establish a discoverable onchain registry.
Offchain Library
An open-source offchain library available on the NPM registry for developers to easily integrate into their projects.
Registration Portal
An open-source public facing registration form that allows non-technical users to easily register as a charity on Cardano.

According to Crunchbase & LinkedIn, the average global salary for a smart contract developer is $146,259 per year. The following calculations are based on that estimate.
Milestone 1: Pre-registration Repo & Schema
Milestone 2: Onboarding Guides
Milestone 4: Offchain Library
Milestone 4: Offchain Library
Milestone 5: Registration Portal
TOTAL AMOUNT
For less than a 3rd of the salary of a single smart contract developer, we are positioned to establish a key utility for Cardano while doing significant real-life good towards causes of all kinds. We expect to onboard many new users to Cardano and continue to provide additional evidence of Cardano’s cause-driven community.
