Real-world blockchain usage cases, everyday integration and adoption, will explode when there is a mix of end-users or consumers' actual needs, government-trusted entities' support and endorsement, and industry demands. To support and explain UBA’s solution in detail, we start with the strategy, long-term vision, and outcome of this fund request proposal.

There is effective system evidence shown in the case of Microsoft Corporation, which provides highly discounted or free usage and access licenses for MS Office Suite to vast education institutes worldwide where students get used to their everyday office software. When the student graduates, the intrinsic of Word processing or Spreadsheet usage and skill would easily overcome other products for the job functionality. Thus, the alumni would tend to use what they know at best and get used to it to produce the most impact and be timely at their job.

In similar education-marketing strategies, Apple granted a considerable number of Mac desktop computers to primary and high schools. When students are exposed to a higher education environment or on the job, they tend to use Apple-like products due to the familiarity and comfort of the devices they already know of in them for their job. There is not much difference between Cisco Inc., an internetworking giant supplier, and Amazon Web Service (AWS) cases, a cloud-based services provider. Both provide free, constructive and well-designed training curriculums to universities where students can work, assess their products, or simulate the setting environment. Results show the sustainability of maintaining the market ladder due to their innovation and ability to work with education sectors for future growth.

With learnt lessons from the four cases above, UBA strategy and rollout pattern in our blockchain alliance university network. We will start with Cardano blockchain and curriculum related to be embedded in all levels of Bachelor, usually four years in Viet Nam for an Information Technology or Computer Science degree. We believe once we are all hands together, from Cardano Lab setting up, Cardano private network, and Mainnet deployment to all other functional and non-functional programming languages that are in the process of adoption from the vast community, we will provide UBA alumni, a strong base in terms of blockchain, especially the curriculum that would be focused and purposely designed for Cardano blockchain and its ecosystem.

 

To support the above approaches with sustainable achievement, the following layout data and briefing of up-to-date blockchain adoption in Vietnam's Universities or higher education sectors to 2024.

 

In Vietnam, most universities currently do not have a standard blockchain textbook, curriculum, or learning guidelines that lecturers can use as a delivery roadmap. Instead, lecturers learn and create their own textbooks or syllabuses for their university.

Typically, apart from developing and updating the curriculum on a yearly basis, the lecturer's daily tasks involve blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and open source-related subjects.

Furthermore, teaching staff also play an active role in the activities of the Blockchain Club, which is a combination of multiple universities. They research, write, and publish papers in international conferences and journals on blockchain topic areas.

 

According to TOPDev [1] the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, every year, an estimated 50,000 to 57,000 students study formation technology (IT) related fields. This will be the solid base and enormous potential of future workforce and resources for the blockchain field in Vietnam in the next 3-4 years.

 

Popular Cardano programming languages, such as Aiken, Haskell, Plutus, and Opshin, remain relatively unknown in Vietnam. Additionally, on-chain governance activities (like CIP1694) are unfamiliar to most Vietnamese students. Therefore, formal training programs are crucial to equip future professionals with the necessary knowledge in this field

          

The Cardano Blockchain Certified Associate (CBCA) program, offered by the Cardano Foundation Academy [2], is a meticulously designed foundational course. Its suitability for beginner-level students suggests that its introduction into university curricula could lead to a significant increase in enrollment and completion rates over time.

Engagement within the Cardano ecosystem offers lecturers and students opportunities to develop expertise and contribute to various roles, including:

• Community and Milestone Reviewers: Evaluating proposals and project milestones.
• Ecosystem Developers: Building applications and tools on the Cardano platform.
• On-chain Governance Stakeholders: Participating in decision-making processes.
• CIP Contributors: Proposing and refining Cardano Improvement Proposals.
• Peer Reviewers: Providing critical feedback on technical documentation.
• Startups: ignite startup ideas to Cardano ecosystem

Additionally, the university environment presents an ideal setting for activities such as:

• Hackathons: Collaborative events focused on developing innovative solutions.

This project comprises the participation of lecturers and students from four major universities in Hanoi, Vietnam, founding members of UBA. Our goal are :

• To onboard Cardano blockchain through delivery courses or subjects as part of the Bachelor of IT
• Opening Cardano blockchain labs (Cardano lab, Cardano private network, blockchain hackathon, workshop...)
• Accelerating start up businesses, Promoting Project catalyst, Running Blockchain Ideas fest at Universities to find potential early stage and start up businesses
• Ignite blockchain research activities & expand UBA network

at the academic environment setting of multiple universities in Vietnam.

In addition to the above activities, UBA will be a network for founding entities (IOG, EMURGO, and Cardano Foundation) to convey messages, programs, and advanced courses to Universities. We would like to emphasize the potential of annual university events such as IT Fest Day, New Student Orientation, and Career Fairs as valuable platforms for promoting Cardano's image. These events provide Emurgo and the Cardano Foundation with opportunities to organically introduce their activities, services, and products to students, who represent a key demographic within the ecosystem's future stakeholders.

We propose exploring a partnership between Cardano founding entities and UBA to facilitate joint events, collaborative initiatives, technical support, and online event/workshops specifically tailored for students.

Envisioning a 12-month implementation period within universities in the UBA network, we anticipate the following contributions to the Cardano community:

• Educational Integration: The official introduction of Cardano blockchain curriculum in Vietnamese across multiple universities will not only raise awareness of the Cardano blockchain but also familiarize the future generation of blockchain professionals with the platform.
• Skilled Workforce Development: A significant influx of well-trained individuals will be fostered to fulfill roles such as community reviewers, project implementers, developers, and innovative proposers. This influx is expected to grow consistently, ensuring a sustainable pipeline of high-quality talent to meet the evolving needs of the Cardano ecosystem.
• Research and Startup Incubation: The initiative will facilitate the onboarding of research-based and student-led startup projects onto the Cardano blockchain platform, fostering innovation and practical application within the ecosystem.
• Network Establishment: A robust network of universities and lecturers with a shared passion for blockchain will be established, serving as a foundation for future in-depth collaborations and initiatives within the Cardano community.

This strategic approach, centered on education, talent development, and community building, aims to enhance Cardano's visibility, foster a vibrant community, and drive sustainable growth within the Vietnamese blockchain landscape.

🎯 The initial collaboration with four universities aims to achieve the following key performance indicators (KPIs):

• Curriculum Integration: Development and approval of blockchain curricula at all four universities, with an anticipated enrollment of 2,000 students in the first year, and projected growth in subsequent years.
• Laboratory Establishment: Creation of three blockchain laboratories equipped with resources for both foundational and advanced practical exercises, aiming to engage at least 300 developers/stake pool operators (SPOs) in the initial year.
• Blockchain Club Formation: Establishment of three Blockchain Clubs, serving as hubs for startup ideation, hackathons, and workshops, with the following targets:
• Organization of three hackathon/startup campaigns, attracting a minimum of 150 developer/entrepreneur registrations.
• Facilitation of three blockchain workshops within the clubs.
• CBCA Certification: Anticipated participation of over 2,000 students in the Cardano Blockchain Certified Associate (CBCA) course, with an estimated 500 students achieving certification.
• Conference Participation: Projected attendance of 70-80 students per university at the Cardano Summit CLE 2025, if held in Hanoi.
• Project Catalyst Engagement: Expected involvement of 400 students in Project Catalyst, with an estimated 50 project submissions in the first year.

These KPIs provide a framework for measuring the success and impact of the initiative, focusing on educational integration, infrastructure development, community engagement, and tangible project outcomes within the Cardano ecosystem.

To enhance Cardano's visibility and recognition among future generations, the following strategies will be implemented:

1. Project Catalyst Integration: Each educational module will conclude with an acknowledgement of Project Catalyst, emphasizing its role in fostering innovation and community-driven development within the Cardano ecosystem.
2. Visual Branding: The logos of Cardano and its ecosystem partners (e.g., Blockfrost, TxPipe, Aiken, Lucid, Gimbalabs) will be prominently displayed on banners, standees, and backdrops at relevant events.
3. Curriculum Enhancement: Instructors will incorporate introductions to Cardano, Project Catalyst, and its partners into relevant modules, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem and its key stakeholders.

In addition to these academic partners, the team includes blockchain engineers from Cardano2vn.io. Evidence of this cooperation are the MoUs between UBA and the Universities.

The size of our alliance network demonstrates our blockchain initiative's significant reach and impact, with thousands of students across multiple universities participating in this partner project and further sustainability growth.

The project team members hand together to develop the outline for the blockchain syllabus, and curriculum and coordinate the participation of lecturers and stakeholders in the compilation. Preliminary outlines have already been drafted and are under composing.

After 2 years of coordination between Cardano2vn and the University of Transport and Communications (UTC), we have achieved the following results:

• Delivered 02 training courses for students on how to be developer on the Cardano blockchain

• Coordinated to organize Cardano Summit Community Led Event 2022 and 2023 with the presence of 17 universities and 400 + attendees.
