[SOLUTION] Please describe your proposed solution
Context:
- There are around five technological platforms in the market, each more expensive than the last, excluding hundreds of agencies in the global marketplace.
- This technology is essential for product distribution and reaching global markets.
- Since it is not accessible to all tourism agencies, a large global network of agencies is being disadvantaged compared to the dominant players in the global tourism market.
- A technology platform in the market can have a license cost ranging from $80,000 to $150,000 USD.
- Additionally, separate modules must be paid for, each costing between $1,000 and $6,000 USD.
- The module and the platform require monthly maintenance and data transfer fees, which range from $20 to $200 USD per month for each module and around $500 USD for platform usage.
- Data transfer consumption incurs an approximate monthly cost starting at $1,500 USD.
Scope of the Proposal:
- Develop a technological platform that allows small agencies to upload their products and connect their suppliers through modules tailored to each product category (accommodations, flights, services, transfers), as well as management modules for bookings and users for each agency's agents. Under these parameters, we will offer the same technological solutions as large companies at a low cost, without compromising quality.
- Phase 1: Develop the low-cost version of this essential technology: it will not exceed $2,000 USD for the license and around $500 USD per module, with a single monthly maintenance fee of less than $100 USD. This would significantly reduce costs, allowing more agencies to access new markets and manage all their products competitively. The platform will enable small agencies to upload their products and connect their suppliers through modules tailored to each product category (accommodations, flights, services, transfers), as well as management modules for bookings and users for each agency's agents. Under these parameters, we will offer the same technological solutions as large companies at a low cost, without compromising quality.
- Phase 2: Each agency using the low-cost version will not only be capable of executing transactions on ADA, but efforts will also be made to enable various interaction options with the Cardano blockchain, adapting code from libraries such as MeshJS: GiftCards, Marketplace, Escrow, Swaps, etc.
- Once this version is established, a global network of tourism agencies will be able to become more competitive in the market and create value more efficiently.
- The low-cost version to be developed will serve as Cardano's access key to a distributed network of agencies worldwide, currently facing technological challenges and limited in their ability to reach new markets.
Proposal´s implementation:
- Conduct market research on the use of tourism platforms in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
- Identify and reach out to potential strategic partners (airlines, hotels, services).
- Gather requirements for platform development and documentation.
- Hold strategic partnership meetings with agencies and service providers such as hotels and ticketing services.
- Begin platform development based on the documentation and requirements from milestone 1.
- Conduct beta testing of the first part of the system with pilot agencies.
- Launch marketing campaigns to promote the platform to agencies.
- Continue testing and establish connections with a couple of hotel and service providers.
- Evaluate the performance of the marketing campaign and adjust the strategy as needed.
- Make necessary adjustments to the modules and launch the front-end (web) for agency agents, allowing them to quote and close sales.
- Marketing campaign launch.
- Launch of demo.
- Promotions for transactions in ADA.
- Evaluate the performance of the marketing campaign and adjust the strategy as needed.
[IMPACT] Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
The project has the potential to transform the Cardano community by democratizing access to technological solutions for small tourism agencies. By offering an affordable platform, we are enabling these agencies to improve their sales capacity, compete more effectively, and contribute to the economic growth of their regions. This not only directly benefits the agencies but also strengthens the local economy and fosters tourism in areas that have traditionally been excluded from technological platforms.
Measuring Impact
- Quantitative Measures:
- Number of registered agencies: Tracking the growth in the number of small agencies adopting the platform.
- Increase in sales: Evaluating the rise in sales of agencies using the platform before and after its implementation.
- License cost: Comparing the license and maintenance costs of the platform with traditional platforms, showing savings for the agencies.
- Qualitative Measures:
- User satisfaction: Conducting surveys with agencies about their experience with the platform, ease of use, and support received.
- Case studies: Documenting success stories of agencies that have thrived due to the use of the platform.
Sharing Results
Results will be shared in the following ways:
- Periodic reports: Generating quarterly reports detailing project progress, including quantitative and qualitative metrics.
- Webinars and presentations: Organizing webinars and presentation events for the Cardano community to showcase achievements and discuss best practices.
- Social media posts: Using Cardano's social media platforms to disseminate news and updates about the project's impact.
- Collaboration with other organizations: Sharing results and insights with other organizations within the Cardano ecosystem that work in tourism or technology to create synergies and promote joint initiatives.
Added Value to the Cardano Community
The success of the project will add value to the Cardano community by:
- Strengthening the user network: Increasing the number of users and developers contributing to the Cardano ecosystem, creating a positive network effect.
- Promoting crypto adoption: Encouraging the use of cryptocurrencies in tourism transactions, driving the adoption and recognition of Cardano as a viable solution in the sector.
- Creating a replicable model: Establishing a business model that can be replicated in other regions or sectors, demonstrating the flexibility and potential of blockchain technology.

[BUDGET & COSTS] Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources
Tools, graphic design, website, and social media: ₳15000
Development: ₳50000
Operating and Administration Costs: ₳34000
Total: ₳ 99000
[VALUE FOR MONEY] How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?
The cost of 99,000 ADA represents a strategic value for the Cardano ecosystem by providing access to an essential technological platform for small and medium-sized tourism agencies. Currently, there are about five technological platforms in the market, each more expensive than the last, with costs ranging from $80,000 to $150,000 USD for licenses and additional modules, making them inaccessible to many agencies. Additionally, these platforms require monthly fees for maintenance and data transfer, which can reach up to $2,000 USD per month.
Our project focuses on developing a low-cost version of this technology, with a total cost that is significantly lower, not exceeding $2,000 USD for the license and around $500 USD per module, with a maintenance fee of less than $100 USD per month. This will allow more tourism agencies, especially in regions such as Latin America, Asia, and Africa, to access the global market, reducing the gap between small agencies and the dominant players in the tourism market.
Cost Justification:
- Development: ₳50,000 – This cost covers the development of the platform, including the creation of customized modules for categories like accommodation, flights, services, and transfers. The development is essential to ensure that agencies can manage bookings, products, and users, all within a competitive digital ecosystem. The price is proportional to typical software development costs in the market, offering a solution that would often cost 3 or 4 times more on conventional platforms.
- Tools, graphic design, website, and social media: ₳15,000 – These elements are crucial to ensure that the platform has an attractive and accessible presence for tourism agencies. This includes the visual design of the interface, website creation, and social media management, all aimed at promoting the platform's use and ADA transactions, integrating with the Cardano ecosystem.
- Operating and administration costs: ₳34,000 – This amount covers administration, marketing, technical support, and platform implementation costs. We are investing in promoting ADA transactions, which represents a competitive advantage for Cardano by expanding its use in the tourism sector.
Benefit to Cardano:
Once developed, the platform will enable tourism agencies to perform transactions in ADA, using blockchain tools like MeshJS for advanced services (GiftCards, Marketplace, Escrow, Swaps, etc.). This will not only expand ADA’s global use but also boost the adoption of the Cardano blockchain in a massive sector like tourism. By allowing small agencies to integrate into the global market, we are creating a decentralized network that aligns directly with Cardano’s philosophy.
Therefore, this project represents exceptional value for Cardano, offering significant returns through the global adoption of its technology in a market currently facing technological barriers, creating new opportunities, and increasing the competitiveness of the ecosystem.
