There is a great demand for showing appreciation of content and ideas by tipping $ADA to a creator. Currently no solution is available.
A possible solution is to create a browser extension for all major platform to facilitate tipping $ADA tokens on multiple social platforms.
This is the total amount allocated to TipADA - Decentralized $ADA Tipping.
I would like to develop a browser extension that will facilitate the utility of tipping $ADA tokens or any other native tokens in the Cardano Network.
How it Works:
Any user will be able to download the browser extension (TipADA - which will be open sourced), the user will then link its social media accounts (Twitter, Reddit, Cardano Forums, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc..) to the extension and associate a Cardano wallet address to the linked accounts.
The information will then be hashed and stored in a database for lookup purposes (We would like to decentralize this part as much as possible by trying to be utilizing Cardano transaction meta data and open sourcing the backend API server). The extension will then be injecting code to the social media platforms to add tipping buttons for other users to click on if they wish to tip any creator they would like.
Here is an example image of what it would look like: https://imgur.com/a/yjDLTUO
So now because the content creator has linked its wallet address to its social media account, the extension can then generate a QR code along with the wallet address and present this to the tipper when it clicks the tip button.
The tipper can then whip out its spending Yoroi or Daedalus wallet and simply send some ADA to the QR code or address. the extension will then keep track of the ADA tipped to the wallet to be displayed in social media posts and content.
With this we can achieve full utility of $ADA token, Cardano Wallets and increase overall adoption of Cardano/ADA.
We can even present a UI where the tipper can choose which native asset/token or NFTs it wants to tip to the content creator. All these without centralizing the $ADA tokens inside the service which is a big problem in these other cryptocurrency tipping bots in the space. Me as the creator of the extension will have no control of the money of the users.
What if the content creator doesn't have the browser extension installed or linked? Then tipping will be disallowed but the extension can present a message to the creator automatically or manually contacting him that someone wants to tip him/her some $ADA and we can walk the creator through the onboarding process of creating a Cardano Wallet and linking it to the extension, ultimately gaining more users!
With this proposal I would like to create the foundational code of this extension and work on two platforms (Reddit, Twitter) compatibility, with the flexibility of adding more later on, subject to community vote.
I would also like to create a TipADA Governance Tokens (TADA) where the holders of the token will be the steering committee on how the extension will evolve. (more planning required after the base code is done)
I will be the core developer working on this and I want to hire another teammate developer and a UI/UX designer for a very good and smooth and modern overall look and feel for the extension elements.
I estimate to complete the project 1-2 months. (My current rate is $60/hour and I will hire another developer with a similar rate) and the remaining of the budget will be used for server costs and designer costs.
Again, every single line of code will be free and open sourced.
Just for a quick background of my experience in the Cardano community:
- I contributed to the Yoroi wallet browser extension by coding the wallet UI theme functionality. https://github.com/Emurgo/yoroi-frontend/pull/284
- I am also the person who pushed for safe disclosure of the cardano-cli Ryzen exploit and returning 12k worth of $ADA to the rightful owner that was retrieved due to the exploit. https://forum.cardano.org/t/amd-ryzen-firmware-report-on-recent-patch/40129
- I am also the creator of the original reddit TipADA bot that I have abandoned and shutdown after realizing it was promoting centralization of the $ADA tokens within the bot causing danger to the owners of the tokens.
- I am the lead developer of ADALotto and ADAPH stake pool operator

Unfortunately, development of ADALotto is not doing too good on that after our funding was coming from ADAPH stake pool and Cardano Foundation pulled out its delegation our pool revenue is not doing very good anymore. We went from 22m in delegations to 1M in just a few weeks :(
I look forward to all constructive criticism and feedback from you guys and please let me know if I have some missing pieces to this proposal.
Thank you,
Clark
