Plan:
The main goal is to improve the engagement of proposals, the effectiveness of feedback to proposals, and also make the voting stage more easily accessible.
This can be achieved by having dapp / webpage precisely for voting and feedbacking proposals.
For it to work we have to have access to the precise measurement of said processes. This is where the dapp comes in.
How can the improvement of the voting process be useful to the community? By increasing the confidence of community members by monitoring the growth of the average percentage of successful fundings. Thanks to that the number of active Catalyst community contributors will increase and thus improve the decision-making of the community. Having the voting process accessible by multiple platforms will welcome more newcomers and increase the activity rates significantly. This will also prove our willingness to constantly improve the community's decision-making and looking out for future possibilities more easily.
a. The goal is to have a few good (subjective) proposals go to waste and see the number of failed proposals decrease. We are also trying to bring out the fact that a failed proposal doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad proposal but rather that it needs more work to be successful. We would also like to have a place for all of the successful and unsuccessful proposals in one place that is accessible to the community so others can use these as learning points to improve on future proposals.
Our main goal is to slowly increase the number of people using our tool. For example, a 10% increase in users steadily per month would be a quantifiable goal. . To measure the number of active users, we will keep track of the transactions made to publish (0.17$/ per publishing).
The success of said workshops and the dapp/website can be measured throughout the project and will give information on how and what to improve going forward. For that, we need detailed analytics about the voting process and how people react to different situations in the voting stages, for example, successful proposals / unsuccessful proposals or how they react to feedback given to them. For these to be of relevant use we need to keep them open-source so that people could reach for the information based on their necessity.
Roadmap and Budget
What we already have? - Base of the application, a team of experts working on improving the idea regularly, meetings that focus on the issues we have previously run into, and also building up the end-goal of this project.
The roadmap is thought to begin from the moment of funding acceptance up until there are certain measurements of success.
We also test funding for ballot activity, 50$ per successful ballot.
Step 1 (1st month)
Produce an application that is compatible with mobile phones, desktops, and web-browsers.
The estimated budget for front end: 19200$
The estimated budget for the back end: 6000$
Step 2 (2nd month)
Creation of guides and workshops to aid with the voting process. We also hope to see a small number (at least about 20) of active voters and assessors.
The estimated budget for Content creators and operational cost: 5040$
Step 3 (3rd month)
Monitor the success of previous work, and act accordingly, dealing with issues and supporting users. We hope to see at least 5 participants creating ballots and hope to see the number of active users rise to 100+.
The estimated budget for Content creators and operational cost: 5040$
Step 4 (4+ months)
Continue to monitor and grow the dapp / website to better improve the success of future voters and assessors and also continue to support active users with feedback.
The estimated budget for Content creators and operational cost: 5040$
