Problem is in generating awareness of Catalyst and how it can be used as well as finding people who will accept payment via ADA.
sixty:forty is a directory for alternative payment and we are running a 3 month long Culture of Innovation campaign in Quarter 3.
This is the total amount allocated to Collab Directory and Events.
sixty:forty is a new platform that is launching on the 27 April 2021. We are a collaboration platform designed to make doing business easier. It is designed to provide education, opportunity and community to our members of aspiring new business owners, those already in their own small business and the B2B industries that support them.
We focus on supporting small business owners who are starting out is so that we can improve the lives of families, teams and communities around the world. In fact, this is our mission.
What
In Quarter 3 (1 Jul 2021 – 30 Sep 2021) sixty:forty is running a "Culture of Innovation" campaign that is designed to launch our Lab program. This program is about starting a business from idea concept to MVP to launch. Throughout the entire program we want to run workshops and one hackathon event that is specifically Catalyst focused so as to generate new proposals in coming rounds from new registrants.
Each month has a theme surrounding the stage of the entrepreneurial journey from Idea, MVP to Launch. This will culminate in a pitch fest whereby we are looking to use technology to match funders with pitch ideas for one on one, speed meetings between like minded individuals, as opposed to the usual format of one big pitch at front of stage (think Tinder for VC's, Accelerators, startups etc).
The events throughout the entire period will be held both in person (Gold Coast, Australia) and online. A dedicated website will be up by the end of May 2021 to promote the event.
Our Audience
Our target audience for this whole of Quarter event is startups and small business owners. This will bring awareness of Catalyst to a whole new audience.
We believe that bringing awareness of the Catalyst project to small business owners opens up a whole new pool of potential submissions. From our perspective, the general public perception of on chain technology is largely focused around media hype on crytpocurrency and there it not a clear understanding of what the potential real world applications are. This is something we aim to change.
Success Metrics
The success metrics of the project from our perspective would be essentially the same as the objectives for this Funding Campaign. We want to raise awareness of Catalyst to ensure submissions to future Project rounds.
It would be our goal that at the end of the 3 month period, that there would have been a minimum of 20 new submissions for the Project round that is open during this period. This is something we can refine once we know the dates of the rounds.
We are actively working on promoting this event with some embargoed media already in place and we have an in-house PR and media placement capability. This is both paid and will be earned media.
We are already doing this …
This event is already being organised. We are funding this from our own funds. This funding would allow us to promote Catalyst and its stated goals to "support the advancement of on-chain governance and to help accelerate community-driven innovation". This would allow a level up of our offering to the community we are looking to build with the view to changing the world in a positive way.
What would be different:
We would be promoting Cardano as the choice of Blockchain and at the Hackathon event we would promote the open funding rounds of Catalyst to encourage submissions.
This would require the development of specific training materials on basic how-tos and just as importantly clear 'whys' about the role of blockchain technologies for the future of small business. Through our interviews with small business owners we have identified that there are large barriers to adoption (age group dependent), including an awareness at all aside from seeing Bitcoin movements in the news. We aim to break these barriers down through education.
We would need to develop a number of different high quality media assets and we need to update the website to introduce a specific ADA acceptance for any opportunities listed.
Other Types of of Collateral
We want to showcase how others have used the funding rounds to further the Catalyst aims successfully and to do that we want to engage with specialist topic speakers in interviews, including past funding grantees, about their experiences in working with Project Catalyst.
We would also want to chat with Project Catalyst and Cardano leadership teams about their larger goal objectives surrounding each of the previous Funding rounds, impacts and outcomes. This brings attention on why the funding rounds are important.
These interviews would be splintered into long form and short form content across wide variety of social channels for greater awareness.
What we would be seeking:
This is a big event, that is on-track to become annual. We would be seeking the full $100,000 in funding. It would be spent as follows:
Collateral Development $60,000 ADA
Speaker Costs $5,000 ADA (Estimated, including any video/audio costs)
Printing & Promotion $5,000 (Fiat)
Cold Outreach $5,000 (Fiat/ADA)
Development Costs $1,000 (Fiat)
Advertising $4,000 (Fiat) (Advertising of specific Catalyst Event via paid ads)
Prizemoney $20,000 ADA
For any of the fiat payments, we would pay for this but we would exchange our cash for ADA at the prevailing rate on date of payment. Room hire and other ancillary AV costs etc (and tech costs in hosting virtual event) are already covered as this is an event we are running already along with all of the support staff to run this. This is a 3 month long series of events.
These are best estimates and we have not secured direct costing of these items or sought formal quotes as yet, as a full brief would be dependent upon whether we proceed to next rounds for full plans, but any excess funding would be applied towards prize money. That prizemoney would ultimately then be spent back within the community of people who registered on our platform so they could be easily found.
The type of collateral would include high quality media assets and production quality video and sound recordings for use at the event. We would also need technical and copywriters to produce materials that support this project. Course development is another key area of spend to bring awareness of use, including animation and illustrations to demonstrate without the barriers of language. They would all be paid from this funding round.
Audit
We would be transparent with the community over spend and be seeking input from the talented members to help us record, produce and develop the materials that support this. We operate in financial services so know about audits and acquittal of funds for project spend. An audit is what we would provide at completion of project for complete transparency.
We aim to connect with as many participants as possible as that is the only way to truly build an eco-system. One our internal mottos is collaboration not competition. So please connect with us at:
