Multilingual Cardano Chatbot & KB

Project Goals:

   - Design Multilingual Chatbot deployed over (e.g., the web, SMS, WeChat, WhatsApp)

   - Establish/Curate Cardano-related multilingual knowledge base of communities & info (accessible via the bot and web)

   - Pay Multilingual Cardano community members to ingest/confirm/improve machine translations & knowledge base content

The Primary Issues:

   - Learning about Cardano shouldn't require/revolve around English

   - Globally, 83% of people don't speak English & 58 other languages have more than 20 million speakers
   - There are too many languages to only address the Cardano non-English gap one language at a time
   - Language-specific endeavors often exist as islands not multipliers (this project connects existing and future islands)

This Project:

Establishes/Curates a Cardano-related multilingual knowledge base. It uses existing language-auto-detection and machine translation to serve speakers of 58 languages in their native language via said decentralized knowledge base with a user-facing conversational / pedagogical chatbot and web interface. Finally multilingual Cardano community members are paid to confirm/improve the knowledge base content and the quality of the translations (priority for human vetting of machine translation will be given to Chinese, Spanish, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Hindi, Arabic, Bengali, and Amharic).

Project Timeline:

In the first 30 days:

  - Establish initial criteria for KB inclusion
  - Establish initial format for KB storage/location cataloging
  - Establish initial KB metadata
  - Mock-up Chatbot (e.g., interface, vignettes)

In the first 90 days:

  - Build KB core
  - Auto-Translate KB core
  - Establish vetting and connection protocols / processes for connecting to KB
  - Build initial Cardano Chatbot interface / instances across platforms (e.g., web, SMS...)

In the first 180 days:

  - Establish initial KB web output information design/format
  - Connect initial Cardano Chatbot to KB core and deploy
  - Invite existing communities and projects to connect their content to the KB
  - Establish & test protocols / processes for KB and translation quality confirmation/improvement via multilingual Cardonans
  - Public launch

By the end of a year:

  - Integrate community-contributed/connected knowledge to KB core
  - Implement community KB and translation quality confirmation/improvement process
  - Connect Cardano Chatbot to KB core + vetted community-contributed/connected knowledge
  - Establish KB as ADA-generating service to ensure sustainable project continuance beyond funding period

Design and Development:

   - Auto-translation $10 per million characters of translation * 58 languages (MS Azure)
   - Cloud App Service $70 per month * 11 months (MS Azure)
   - Cloud Storage Service $30 per month * 11 months (MS Azure) 

Ingestion, Evaluation, and Translation:

  - KB community resources ingestion    $100 (ADA equivalent) per month split between all contributors * 9 months
  - KB Quality evaluation                           $200 (ADA equivalent) per month split between all contributors * 9 months
  - KB Translation                                     $1000 (ADA equivalent) per month split between all contributors * 9 months
