Shopify Plugin: Accept Ada in Store

What is it all about?

Building a seamless plugin for Shopify merchants to accept cardano-based stable coins in their store.Our goal is to design a Shopify app that integrates seamlessly into the merchant's online store and makes the user experience (UX) more familiar and appealing

 Some of  the key factors we will consider in building the plugin includes

• Easy installation of the plugin
• A UX/UI design that is both functional and beautiful
• target merchants in mind and a wider cardano community
• Accessibility
• Internationalisation

February 2022:

• Determining the plugin's scope
• Set Feature list, integration points with Shopify
• Explore COTI API endpoints
• architectural decisions and Integration System design, UML design

March 2022:

• UI/UX design

April 2022:

• Plugin Implementation

May-June 2022:

• Add Internalisation

3. 6 months to one year

• Multi Account support
• Publishing in the Shopify App Store
• Cleaning up the UI
• Public Testnet Launch
• Documentation and  tutorial

How does success look like?

1.      After 3 month:

•   UI/UX design is implemented
•     seamless integration with COTI API

     2.    After 6 month:

• A full Shopify plugin to accept Cardano based stable coin is built.
• A public Testnet launch.

    3  After 12 month:

• Listed as a public Shopify app available for merchants to install
• 100k transaction is done.

Challenge Fit

From the campaign brief, COTI offers this challenge :

"to allow a new and creative way for all small and medium enterprises currently using platforms, such as Shopify and WooCommerce, to readily accept ADA Payments with seamless integration by adding a plug-in into their site."

This proposal focus on  building Plugin on one of the platform mentioned -Shopify, therefore fit into this challenge

Impact:

More than 1.7 million merchants across the globe build, scale, and manage their businesses on Shopify. onboarding shopify merchants to cardano ecosystem , ADA HODLers  wins.

Success metrics

Userbase:

• Number of merchants that can be integrated with the plug-in.
• total transaction attempts and transactions completed

Functionality:

• The Shopify plugin is complete and functional
• COTI API is fully integrated

Usability:

• The plugin shall be easy-to-integrate
