Good Journalism has been disrupted and battered by "fast content" on social media, heavy censorship and falling subscription numbers.
DOKURIZI is a self-publishing platform for journalists where their work can be minted as NFTs. Enabling them to connect with communities.
This is the total amount allocated to Dokurizi - decentralised journalism.
DOKURIZI is a NFT self-publishing platform for storytellers – photojournalists, documentarians, journalists and editorial cartoonists, where their work can be minted as NFTs. This enables them to work independently, supported by communities who care about their work.
In version 1 of the platform, we want to create a self-publishing feature (like medium.com) that has templates for different types of stories. The user will also be guided through a minting process that allows them to decide:
- number of editions per item(image, video, text, illustration)
- metadata/captions
- royalties splits between collaborators(eg photographer+writer, agency+writer)
In later versions of the platform:
- community governance(to moderate content/commission urgent untold stories)
- enable news organisations to build more customisable landing pages on our platform(ie. a move that could make us a shopify for NFT-enabled news organisations)
I am a former journalist who now teaches journalism at NTU, Singapore. I've built two successful media start-ups(exited 2019).
