Fund13 - the votes are in!
Latin American artists only access to a global music marketplace is streaming giants like Spotify. They need more favorable options.
We'll build a Direct2consumer music streaming player for record labels. This proposal will focus specifically on onboarding LatAm artists.
This is the total amount allocated to Decentralized Music Platform LatAm.
I want to build a music streaming platform that the content creators control instead of Spotify, Youtube, and Apple. This will be made possible using Cardano blockchain. Record labels will direct all music fans to this platform now that they control the payment processing. Fans can now finally support their favorite artists directly using the power of crypto.
With the funds, I will build an MVP of this platform. The MVP will be a basic music player that connects to a digital wallet. This music player will be linked to a peer2peer network, and all music uploaded to this network will be made searchable from the music player. IAGON is the data storage provider we are considering for this. Gimbalabs' Dandelion project also looks interesting. So we search the song on the music player, and click play. The song will charge the digital wallet a fee per stream and instantly payout royalties to the digital wallet of the artist(s) and all collaborators associated with the song via smart contracts, instantly.
This is a huge deal. I believe this will make a very compelling demo and get record labels to sign up to use this service. This will lead to a Series A round of funding, where we can then build on top of this MVP.
We do not wish to insert ourselves as the new middleman. We wish to build a platform that will allow record labels and other content owners to become their own Spotify. To connect directly to the fans. And to return power back to the creators.
Using Cardano to achieve this will be a win/win for all parties involved.
If this proposal gets funded, then we will use the funds to focus on onboarding the Latin American music market via the record label contacts that I have. Specifically through Carlos "Spiff" Suarez (manager of global superstar Anuel AA). Johnny Marines (manager of Aventura's Romeo Santos) who will be my very next call. What makes this project different from the below, is this specific focus on the Latin Market.
Our KPI would be to sign up 1 Latin American record label and onboard their entire library of content over time. We will iterate and improve, then scale to sign up every other record label.
My timeline and budget for the underlying technology used to pitch to Latin America record labels have been well described in my proposal to build the software, under the Dapps & Integrations challenge here:

Again, it is important to note that the budget I am requesting here, will be to focus solely on validating the concept in the Latin American market. We will hire these high-powered Latin American Music executives to represent our interest in this market. This will connect the artists of Latin music to a global music marketplace using the power of Cardano.
Over 20 years in the music business. My friend has years in the biz specifically in LatAm, managing a huge LatAm artist, Anuel AA.
