There is not enough economic opportunity with Cardano in the physical world
An inexpensive 3D printer hardware interface that will allow artists and builders to directly print 3D NFTs
This is the total amount allocated to 3D printer hardware interface.
Focus will be on an open source, secure, hardware interface for a plastic 3D printer. The hardware will enable printing of 3D NFTs to provide economic opportunity to builders and artists that focus on physical products. Long term goal is to help enable distributed, on demand, manufacturing, especially in areas that do not have immediate access to common goods.
Interface details: total cost goal less than $200
1. Based off raspberry pi 4 compute module with Wi-Fi and Ethernet ~$100
2. Touch screen for part visualization $75
3. 3D printed housing with fasteners for maintenance $10
4. Work with most common plastic 3d printers currently in use
Timeline:
End of first quarter 2022: CAD design complete for electronics and box
End of second quarter 2022: prototype assembled and initial software testing
End of third quarter 2022: design and software refinement + integration to the Cardano network
End of 2022: functional interface to release to community
