[IMPACT]

The goal is to support the development of the Positiveblockchain platform in its quest to map the Blockchain for Good space, and bring the Cardano impact projects to the open access, database and platform.

This proposal seeks funding to support a project that will help bring projects from the Cardano ecosystem to the Positiveblockchain directory (creating verified and quality entries to the directory). This will expose the Cardano 4 Good ecosystem to a broader audience, and enable a myriad of opportunities, such as those that can come about from collaboration and cross fertilisation with other Blockchain for Good projects.

This proposal will also support development costs to integrate new features in the platform for the Cardano project owners (such as claiming and editing their project pages) so that we can ensure ownership and maintain up-to-date data on the directory.

Cardano and Sustainable ADA would be presented on the website as partners of Positiveblockchain and core data contributors.

The proposed solution will contain the following:

Add Cardano projects in the Positiveblockchain directory by collecting data and recording it (2000$)
Main data: project title, description, website, category, sub-category, technology used, consensus, year creation, SDGs, headquarter
Additional data (when available): organization type, implementation countries, social media, long description, founders, diversity & female founders, token name
Fund development costs of Positiveblockchain focusing on following features (4000$)
Claim Now functionality, User Account management, User Verification flow, User Dashboard screens, Project Edit functionality
Ensure onboarding of Cardano projects in the Positiveblockchain directory by active community management, reach-out, incentives or awards (2000$)

It is difficult to identify and follow the development of projects leveraging the Cardano technologies in the areas of social and environmental good, broadly speaking in the SDGs.

Positiveblockchain has already established since 2018 the largest, if not one of the largest, and highest quality directory of projects active in this area - 1200 entries and counting.

Positiveblockchain is trying to make its platform more user friendly with new features both for users and project owners.

The Cardano projects are not or not well identified/recorded and therefore not visible to broad audiences out there. It would be relevant as various ecosystem participants use the Positiveblockchain database for market or academic research, collaboration, benchmarking or funding, such as BlockchainforGood, Celo, blockchain4good alliance, Ethereum Foundation to name a few.

As Positiveblockchain is a directory of projects across multiple blockchain technologies and environments, the project will help foster visibility of Cardano to other players and enable more (crosschain) collaborations.

Difficulties to identify all Cardano impact projects -> use social media, communities, campaign approach to identify them.

Lack of developer resources at Positiveblockchain for a timely implementation of the developed features —> will source capacity in the Cardano4Climate and Cardano Collective for Impact Network.

Positiveblockchain is a non-profit association exploring the potential of blockchain technologies for social and environmental impact through its open database, knowledge platform and global community. The mission of the association is to build the web of knowledge and support collaboration for technology and social impact enthusiasts looking to leverage blockchain technologies for the U.N. SDGs. Our database currently lists more than 1200 projects and startups using blockchain technologies for social impact. Projects are either crowd-sourced or identified and qualified by Positiveblockchain or its alliance partners comprising associations, universities or blockchain foundations. Cardano4Climate (C4C) community includes over 200 members and growing. Sustainable ADA team is focusing on educational services, research and communication of impact projects on the Cardano blockchain, spreading the word of the work and impact of the Cardano ecosystem.

Summary

The first phase of the integration has taken place and we will be moving shortly on to phase two. During the first phase, the development Andrew has taken on are… Phase 1: - Use Retool as a way to standardize/improve the administration part of your workflow - Create a NestJS server on AWS to manage the import processing, run any additional scripts, and provide a fully controlled API layer During the next phase, the developer plans to do: Phase 2: - Create a Vercel/NextJS app that will replace the project pages and pull the data directly from the API, including the search/filtering functionality for users. “If we keep everything to an MVP-level implementation, I can do it within your budget.” Value explanation: Retool is highly customizable and works directly with GSheets. This will allow you to continue to use GSheets the way that you've been, but also create a standardized way to interact/edit your data instead of editing the GSheets directly. Will include import/export UI and has the potential for an advanced visualization UI and custom forms/editing. A separate server will provide a way to import data to the GSheet DB, with the added benefit of being able to standardize/clean/add details to the data before it gets added and offer a standardized API for data consumption Vercel/NextJS provides a powerful stack to create static and dynamic webpages from the API, allowing the website to always be up to date with the latest data and reducing your dependency on Wordpress. The new search page has the possibility to be much more powerful. New workflow: Since the GSheet will still be your database, you will have ultimate control over your workflow. However, I recommend a new workflow that would be: User uploads data whenever they want via CSV drop (bulk or single) PB volunteer periodically checks the Retool app for "unverified" or "draft" data, verifying/updating/deleting as needed. Any project that you don't want to be public can just be a "draft" And that's it :) All verified/public data will be available through the API or exportable through the Retool App.

Summary

We have paid the developer who has started the new web integration and is working on the development of the new PB database. Where projects and teams will be able to claim their projects and add updates to their business activities. Which will help keep the database more up-to-date and provide more accurate data to the PB community. This will also help us integrate more Cardano projects and have teams claim their projects so they can get more exposure in this cross-chain Positive Impact database of projects.

We moved the project back so we can better evaluate the option and work with INATBA to help with the Web integrations. We also have been adding to the Cardano Impact directory and helping integrate more projects into the PB database. We plan to have a better update this next month as we are waiting for our partners, and supporting groups.

We have finalized our first edition of adding Cardano projects to the Positive Blockchain Database. We also have been looking for developers and the right people to take on the next steps of the project. We also plan to continue to add more projects to the PB directory. We have started to migrate the last version of the Cardano impact projects database to the new PB database so migrating our projects can happen with ease. Summary
