Cardano Reuse Plastic India Hub

[IMPACT]

Our proposal is to create a Cardano Community Hub with a focus on recycling and developing a circular economy to replace the current linear economy of the disposal of plastic and other waste. In a circular economy, products and materials are being re-used, refurbished, or recycled according to the waste hierarchy, instead of being incinerated or disposed of in landfills. In this process, we will be generating Carbon Credit for negating the plastic that would have made its way into landfills.

Our plan is to seed the building of multiple sustainable Cardano Community Hubs from Tamil Nadu (the second largest plastic waste generator in India) in the South East of India up to Ahmedabad up towards the North West.

The overall key metrics would be:

• Increased interaction between Catalyst and Indian focused projects
• Number of Indian focused Catalyst submissions
• Number of Indian focused dapps/services actually built

The primary challenge is the size of the country and gaining traction for Cardano and ADA, this is why we are starting Cardano Community Hubs on both sides of the continent with a keen eye on recycling as one of the activities that will help them to be sustainable.

[FEASIBILITY]

As we have people in place in both locations we have effectively already started the process and the activity of building hubs is an ongoing FUND 7 funded activity of https://gerolamo.org/ and https://cardanocommunityhubs.com/.

Activities over the next 3 to 6 months will include:

• Setting up local Cardano hubs for regular catch ups (virtual or real world)
• Local-language websites/socials/YouTube set up to attract developers/entrepreneurs to explain Cardano and Catalyst at a high-level
• how-to videos in local-language as a walk through to help educate.
• Connect with universities and training centers
• Connect with new and established Indian YouTube channels to talk Cardano tech, dev ideas, business opportunities etc to create a buzz about Catalyst funding
• Regularly promote establishing of Cardano Community Hubs in India and Catalyst funding

[AUDITABILITY]

Initially we will work, over the next 3 to 6 months to build a Pan-India online hub using local languages, this will promote the forming more localised Cardano Community Hubs to foster online and in person activities & projects.

Our success will be measured by the number of individals attracted and the geographic coverage by the number of hubs formed.

This is an ongoing project around the world that could take years, we will put some ideas of key stages here shortly.

As we are now delivering on our FUND 7 promises the work is growing in scale daily and is a changing landscape.
