There are several Catalyst Projects that have been funded and are now underway in South America. We need to be able to track their progress.
We will send a film crew to several locations currently implementing their proposals in South America and document their progress.
This is the total amount allocated to Auditing South American Proposals..
Filming the work being done is one of the most effective ways to measure the visible progress of Project Catalyst proposals. We will be documenting the work being done in these countries with professional quality and compiling the footage into a digestible format that most will see and understand. In completing this work, we will illustrate to the Catalyst and Cardano communities the effect of community-based funding. This will also address issues of fraudulent proposals, ensuring that the work is actually being done and funds are not misallocated.
We aim to successfully audit over four proposals to start; as we aim to establish a baseline for future auditing with a 'proof of concept'.
Added below are preliminary measures meant to show our own transparency in working in Ecuador already, with the Fundación Hogar de Esperanza. In showing this preliminarily, we hope to foster the trust that we will accurately and truthfully audit other South American proposals.
Showing investors the results of their investment; seeing funds and work in action will garner further trust in the community and emphasize more transparency.
Creating pride in the accomplishments made possible through funding. Seeing the work done will further the sense of community and a common goal towards a better global future.
Risks include circumstances surrounding the Covid Pandemic and its ability to change the landscape of travel and international work. Additional risk comes from operating in a 3rd world country; a potential lack of policing and other unknown variables could compromise the shoot. These latter risks can somewhat be mitigated with proper funding and pre-production research.
Pre Production/Research: 4 months
Prep: 4 weeks
Shoot: 20 days (over four weeks)
Wrap: 1 week
Edit: 12 weeks
Total Post: 15 weeks
TOTAL: 44 weeks
----------------------------------------------------------
Initially, we would communicate with separate teams within Catalyst to coordinate travel dates and film concrete landmarks for each project. Coordinating with each project to establish an efficient timeline will take some necessary time, including time to ensure safety and comfort for the crew and all others involved.
The shoot itself will happen in coordination with project leaders including Techademia to ensure transparency and honesty with the allocation of funding in Project Catalyst. With sufficient planning, the shoot will be efficient and sufficient in successfully auditing multiple catalyst projects.
Upon return to the United States, we will compile the footage in an easily digestible fashion that all members of the Cardano community can look to as a successful implementation of their funds. The observable results will be both a successful means of audit and a way for the Cardano community to showcase its efforts across the globe.

The best way to measure our progress is through as much transparency as possible. Given the nature of the challenge goals set, consistent communication with our investing community is imperative to maintaining our goals within the budget.
To accomplish this transparency we must relay our research accomplishments, goals for footage, and eventual results to the Catalyst community in a timely fashion.
Measurable points of progress could look like:
Success for this project will be effectively meeting each of the performance indicators set by the challenge. Improving auditability within the Catalyst ecosystem will vastly improve the standard to which other Catalyst projects are held. Bad faith practices will hopefully decrease with further adoption of this method of auditing so that there is far greater progress unmitigated by misallocated funds.
