[IMPACT]

Building a community to support successful projects and multiply successful concepts and responses to significant social, societal and economic challenges.

This specific community features these elements:

• A small number of defined roles with clearly specified objectives, coordinated by a token-based organisation for dynamic collaboration with an aligned vision and mindset, which forms the decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO)

• Each (social) entrepreneur's project will be an element of the DAO where contributions to the development and success of the project are attributed to the project so that contributors can get their share from the growth and development of the project/concept

• There will be an incentivised mechanism embedded in this structure to record success stories and failures, organise shared community learning and collect data for accountability and PR. We also plan to involve the PositiveBlockchain community, with its reach into the Blockchain4good space, in this effort.

Being able to learn quickly and effectively from successful approaches to social change can make a big difference to communities with similar challenges. However, far too seldom such opportunities are taken up and successful approaches are implemented in the same or similar situations.

Systematically discovering, promoting and sharing successful concepts not just as ideas, but as near-to-implement packages with all the essential information and training for successful adoption, this will accelerate the growth of the Cardano community tremendously.

• Initiating and considerably contributing to social transformation is a complex endeavour. It needs thorough understanding of the local context, communication and trust of the community members.

• Key thing is also to productively deal with the dynamics in the community and the environment. Traditional systems try to do this in centralised hierarchical, bureaucratic structures. This community uses the power of decentralised, networked cooperation to achieve quicker gains in complex situations.

• For this to be a fair, fun and dynamic approach, appropriate and accepted incentive mechanisms are important. It is fair to let those participate who have laid foundations and contributed to the development of a successful concept in one of the defined roles.

This form of innovative, decentralised cooperation for social transformation is essentially a form of support that is currently referred to in centralised form as technical cooperation. According to OECD figures, more than USD 16 billion is spent on this form of support annually by OECD countries, so it is certainly a relevant subject (2019, source, Aid (ODA) disbursements to countries and regions).

Risk: A relevant risk is that we do not yet filled the coding role(s) in the team from the coders we are connected to in the ecosystem.

Mitigation: We see this as our main focus for the ramp-up of the project to fill those key role(s). We will continue to engage with our existing network and the Cardano community at large to recruit one or two experienced coders for the project.

Risk: The approach is a complex endeavour linking a technological and a social layer, which are intertwined in complex ways and influence each other. This can lead to unexpected challenges, but also opportunities.

Mitigation: This requires an approach that is in close dialogue with the community and has the use case for the (social) entrepreneurs and communities in mind, as well as an agile development process that actively invites constant feedback and communication with the community involved in the MVP in close collaboration with the development team.

Risk: For a minimum viable product requires a sufficiently large number of contributors with a diverse range of profiles and experiences. The desirable strong integration into local communities is also an important success factor.

Mitigation: We will rely on our strong networks, with these many open-minded and committed people who share the enthusiasm for truly decentralised solutions and are committed to a sustainable and socially just future for all societies. This is where we will find active people to engage in this transformative approach.

[FEASIBILITY]

Our goal is to develop an MVP within six months as a first step. The technical component must go hand in hand with the development of the community:

• Detailing the concept
• The profile of essential roles that become active to support entrepreneurs must be detailed. Terms of Reference are developed for this purpose (roughly analogous to a job description).
• A description of the projects that will serve as a structure for the MVP to support entrepreneurs.
• Refine the design of the token economy to properly set and balance the incentives in the group that works together - with the entrepreneur at the helm - to make their project a success.

• Coding
• Develop a smart contract to map project-related support services and project capitalisation through an equity value token and a contribution token.
• MVP will have only a rudimentary user interface, yet core elements of a user interface will be examined for their suitability in the context of the first applications

• Community Development
• Here we build on the vast global network of the Weltweit community has to identify multipliers and actively approach contributors with relevant profiles
• We will build a pipeline of 5 potential entrepreneurs who, together with the active members of the DAO community, set up a successful entrepreneurial initiative.

Ronald Steyer has > 15 years of experience in international cooperation/aid, Africa & Asia, trained economist and business IT, PhD on financing of large public infrastructure networks, manager and project lead, strategy and business development, co-founder of PositiveBlockchain.io

PositiveBlockchain is a non-profit association exploring the potential of blockchain technologies for social and environmental impact through its open database, knowledge platform and global community. The mission of the association is to build the web of knowledge and support collaboration for technology and social impact enthusiasts looking to leverage blockchain technologies for the U.N. SDGs. PositiveBlockchain is a contributor-based non-profit association registered in Paris and active globally.

Christopher Ihinegbu is a MS student of Environmental Risks and Human Security at the UN University in Bonn. He is also an intern at Local Government for Sustainability in Bonn, where he works on "Digitalization and Fintech initiatives as enabler for SDGs financing". WIth a background in geography and climate change, his interests are in the area of climate change, digitalization-SDG nexus, crowdfunding and blockchain for good

Kajo Stelter studied Asian studies and graduated with a degree in Tibetology. Master’s degree in Resource Management and Agricultural Sciences of the Tropics and Subtropics at the University of Bonn/Germany. Working in Beijing in the cultural sector and in Shanghai in industry, started his own business in Germany as an arborist.

He is founder & chairman of Weltweit association, with the purpose to give power to the people. It wants to help overcome post-colonial and ethnocentric structures through the creation of true self-determination concerning all fields of development. It wants to empower the locals who are most effected on what, how and when they want to “develop” and does it by offering knowledge, information and financial support. Its primary focus group are overseas students who learn the global language during their oversea studies and get equipped by Weltweit with tools and networks to manage the community projects of their brothers and sister back home.

Six months after ignition, we have achieved:

• one entrepreneur was mentored with his initiative
• a pipeline of 5 potential entrepreneurs who, are ready to set up a successful entrepreneurial initiative with the active members of the DAO community
• DAO deployed as an MVP
• a working and active DAO

We can show that decentralised delivery of technical assistance with strong local connections is possible and works as a model. We can are ready for financing to up-scale.

The concept supports SDG 17 as it aims to strengthen the means for gradual, decentralised, yet coordinated change, in line with the global partnership for sustainable development. This locally-led approach of experience and knowledge sharing and joint capacity improvement (which we prefer as a mindset over the traditional one-way "capacity building" mindset) has the potential to open up new areas of participation and effectiveness in global sustainability efforts.

SDG1 to SDG16

This concept requires the CommunityGrowthAcceleratorDAO governance and token economics strongly incentivise and geared towards adoption of SDGs. Another measure is to create a shared manifesto-type understanding and refine it in the DAO. With this initiative, we are going beyond institutions and organisations to create a community empowerment mechanism that enables individuals to engage in a global movement that is aligned with the SDGs.
