Although Latin America is home to many talented technology professionals and programmers, it still lags behind other regions in terms of environmental awareness.
Organizing Climathon to raise awareness, combining CARDANO technology with climate change to promote and form interdisciplinary partnerships
This is the total amount allocated to CARDANO CLIMATHON.
Many environmentally conscious countries are already moving toward a green economy, and the future will require companies of any size to change the way they work, whether they are startups or established global companies. Despite this, LATAM area is still very much behind in developing a green economy, but we all have a responsibility to promote sustainable development, especially the next generation of new businesses.
We hope that by organizing a Cardano CLIMATHON can raise awareness of environmental protection in LATAM area, strengthen local eco-systems, inspire further climate action and take diverse green and sustainable ideas to the next level and linking Cardano´s green concept with Climathon, help to create a zero carbon world and brainstorm ideas for the world's climate challenge, as well as to empower entrepreneurs to be the driving force behind the world's ambitious climate-focused goals and to fight the negative impacts of pollution and climate change that affect billions of people today.
With our past experience in organizing large events and as ADA SOLAR is supporter of renewable energy, we are providing the impetus for this event as organizers of the Climathon. Our idea is to attract Cardano community members, policy makers, entrepreneurs, pro-green investors and activists, academics, students, developers and others to this co-creative, idea-generating and civically engaged environmental event using gamification, social collaboration and challenges to make everyone a part of it to achieve the awakening we want and to create a place where we want to be.
This project fits perfectly with this challenge because it covers a wide range of issues, and this project is not only related to environmental protection, total CO2, generating environmental awareness and changing harmful environmental habits, but it also promotes the integration of the CARDANO community and combines environmental protection issues with people from different areas to develop new ideas or projects together.
1.Teams not solving challenges on time, if looking at progress on day 1 to decide whether to extend by 2 hours to allow teams to complete their taks.
2.Not enough people are gathered to form 5 teams, to avoid this situation, the number of teams will be confirmed after registration to avoid too few participants, if the number of applicants is too low then we will step up the search for people willing to participate to achieve the target.
3.If the number of people or event gathering is limited due to COVID, the event will be changed to an online event if this is the case.

With the former experience of coordinating Cardano Summit 2021 Buenos Aires event for 120 people and will organize Hackathon 2022, we know that CLIMATHON could attract many community members, students, entrepreneurs, developers and pro-green activists and enthusiasts who want to participate, therefore we would love to organize a two-day CLIMATHON, gathering people of all background and skills to partner up and compete in development contests, supervised by a suitable jury, in order to encourage collaborative work among them and exchanging innovative ideas for an even more sustainable world.
If the event is successful and achieves its goal of raising environmental awareness and bringing it into daily life, we may be able to build on the success and continue to promote environmental awareness so that more people can join the campaign to protect the Earth, and we will therefore consider holding another similar event.
The success of this event depends on:
1-Whether the number of participants reached our target, i.e. at least five groups signed up and 120 people participated in the event
2-Whether the group was able to complete the task within the time frame we specified in order to see if the timing was appropriate or if the task was suitable
3-Whether the participating organizations have developed products or services related to environmental issues
4- Whether the participants understood the importance of environmental protection through the event
This event can be considered a success if:
1-At least five groups sign up and 120 people participate in the event
2-The group completes the task within the time frame we specify
3-The participating groups developed products or services related to environmental issues
4-The participants understand the importance of environmental protection through the event
5-Positive impact on the dissemination of environmental protection concepts
6-Participants hope that we will continue to organize the next event on environmental issues
7- Everyone was satisfied with the two-day schedule
