In Africa, many health facilities and providers like clinics, health centers, and doctors are still NOT using Medical Records systems that could make their operations more efficient and productive.
Hippocrades has already built healthcare solutions for clinics and doctors (part of the Catalyst funding). We'll raise awareness and provide onboarding guidelines and tutorials in the African region.
This is the total amount allocated to Healthcare Providers Onboarding.
Project Brief
Hippocrades is a decentralized healthcare infrastructure. One of its components is providing healthcare solutions ideal for clinics, pharmacies, diagnostic centers, and doctors. This is already available and the basic package starts free.
Raising Awareness of the Available Health Solutions
This proposal wishes to raise awareness of the availability of the health solutions and providing onboarding guides and tutorials for those interested.
Africa Incubator
Hippocrades is now part of the ongoing Ariob.io / Iceaddis Incubator program in Africa. As more healthcare providers onboard, they will also attract onboarding their patients. Hippocrades also has a patient web portal.
Specifically, tell me how your proposed Healthcare Providers Onboarding help wide-scale adoption in Africa?
There are more than 250,000 doctors in Africa. There are also thousands of healthcare facilities. Many of them still do not have a good electronic medical records (EMR) system in place. As more users onboard, the same health providers can also start using the intended decentralized healthcare exchange which is on top of the Cardano blockchain. Potentially, hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of transactions can be exchanged regularly.
In addition, Hippocrades also has solutions for pharmacies and diagnostic centers.
To make this work, we would need a digital marketing team composed of writers, content creators, and graphic artists. They would need to be immersed with the Hippocrades solutions.
So the potential risk is if the team is not able to raise the awareness and produce valuable materials that are user-friendly. This can be mitigated by proper selection of the team, planning, and proactive participation of the core team of Hippocrades.
Furthermore, the targeted countries can be limited to just one up to three countries - Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya (subject to change).

Our team has been building healthcare solutions since 2016. We have built Hippocrades, a decentralized healthcare infrastructure for web 3.0. It has been funded by Project Catalyst and is now part of the Ariob Incubator / Iceaddis program in Africa (this is in partnership with Cardano). It is also a finalist in the recent Seedstar - FT x Cardano Blockchain Challenge.

Core Tech Team
We are a 10 man team and also have a pool of tech consultants that we can tap on a project basis. This project will be lead by the following:
Dale is the founder of Hippocrades and the co-author of its two (2) white papers. He also founded a health tech startup, MYCURE, and healthcare APIs platform HAPI Hub. Prior to these startups, he also founded and run Team OPS (a soft dev company) for 11 years. He graduated with the highest distinction in his master's class at the University of the Philippines and also took a one-year graduate program in management at Harvard University.
Joff has been programming and focusing on web development using JavaScript in the past 9 years (since 2012). Most of his time is spent mastering frontend development using AngularJS, Angular, and Vue.js frameworks. Currently, he is dabbling on SvelteJS. He is passionate on contributing to the open-source community. Being a big fan of Vue.js, his projects are mostly based on Vue.js or JavaScript.
Joff's Areas of Expertise:
Nad is a natural geek growing up. He has been coding since the art has been introduced to him at age 15. This has led him to choose Computer Science as his undergraduate degree at the top university in the country. Since 2016, he is mostly involved in designing healthcare systems—developing APIs like EMRs and full scale health information management solutions.
Nad's Areas of Expertise:
Yes. Hippocrades is a huge undertaking as explained in detail in its two (2) white papers:
While it has already major milestones over the last 5 years, it still has some needed tasks to complete its infrastructure.
The materials will be divided into modules with sub-tasks on each. A timeline will be set for each of the tasks to see if the project is on track. These will be included in the daily standups and weekly meetings.
We typically use Github even for non-technical tasks lists to monitor progress. The same will be applied here.
As mentioned above, items in the checklist would need to be ticked off every time a task is done. All ticks would mean that the deliverables were executed. They are considered successful if they are all done within the timeline expected.
Production of the tutorials and materials shared in the website and groups will also be a way to measure the project's milestones.
Ultimately, the number of signups will be the determining factor (outside of potential UX/UI and technical concerns). Targets will be set during planning.
Hippocrades as an Infrastructure and Platform
Hippocrades is more than just an app, it's a health infrastructure and platform that other developers can use to build more healthcare apps. It also has apps that are independent of each other but can be used altogether (or in combination) depending on the needs of the deployer.
Following are the funded proposals by Catalyst that are part of the Hippocrades ecosystem:
The related SDG Goals below are aligned with Hippocrades' mission to make healthcare data safely and securely accessible to all. Providing a health tech infrastructure allows nations to achieve the 3.8 SDG subgoals since these require a robust system to be able to deliver such services efficiently.
SDG Goals
Goal 3. Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
SDG Subgoals
3.8 Achieve universal health coverage, including financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all
Key Performance Indicator (KPI)
3.8.1 Coverage of essential health services
We are from the Hippocrades Team that has built a decentralized healthcare infrastructure for Cardano. We have been selected in the first batch of the Ariob Incubator / Iceaddis program in Africa which is supported by Cardano for high-potential startups.
