The language barrier in Project Catalyst prevents Spanish speakers from engaging fully with proposals, limiting their participation in governance and feedback.
This is the total amount allocated to Catalyst Inclusivity: Spanish Translation and Community Review Platform.
We will create a Spanish-language translation and review platform for Catalyst proposals, promoting inclusivity & diverse feedback, empowering Spanish speakers to participate in Cardano's governance.
This project will rely on the integration of Lidonation API, Ideascale, and OpenAI’s GPT-4 for precise and real-time translations, alongside a user-friendly review interface for the community.
All project components, including the translation platform and the community review process, will be fully open-source under the MIT License, allowing other communities to adapt the technology for similar purposes.
Problem:
Most Project Catalyst proposals are submitted in English, making it difficult for non-English-speaking communities, especially Spanish speakers, to engage in the review process. This language barrier restricts their ability to provide feedback or participate in governance, resulting in a lack of diverse perspectives that limits the future growth of Cardano's ecosystem.
Background:
Spanish speakers represent a significant portion of the global population, yet their participation in Project Catalyst remains low due to language barriers. Browser translation tools are often inaccurate, causing disengagement. Additionally, the large volume of proposals makes it hard for non-English speakers to contribute effectively.
Solution:
This project will create a multi-device web platform offering high-quality, AI-powered translations of Catalyst proposals in Spanish. The platform will also introduce a community review system where Spanish speakers can share feedback and evaluations, contributing diverse perspectives to proposal reviews. Users will benefit from filtering features and a "Community Review to Earn" model, allowing participants to earn rewards for their contributions.
Key Features:
This project will positively impact the Cardano community by empowering Spanish speakers to engage in Catalyst proposals, fostering diversity and inclusivity. We will measure success through:
The results will be shared openly through reports and analytics, ensuring transparency and encouraging further community participation.
