Cardano has the strongest and most passionate community in the entire blockchain and cryptocurrency industries and yet more can be done to drive growth and adoption. 

The goal of the Cardano Open: Ecosystem (non-technical) category is to drive grassroots ecosystem growth, foster education and community initiatives, that expands Cardano’s global footprint and onboards more Cardano users.

This non-technical category covers a broad range of initiatives that help drive such goals through marketing, education, community building and other means, both in existing local regions where Cardano has a community-presence as well as in other new communities, raising awareness and enabling impactful community-building endeavors.

Who should apply? 

Educators, marketers, creators, creatives, community governance leaders, influencers should apply. If you’re planning to use funding to develop technology as a main goal of this proposal please submit to Cardano Use cases, or Cardano Open: Developers

Funding Guidance:

Applicants can submit a proposal for funding of up to ₳100k in Cardano Open: Ecosystem category. Proposals requesting larger amounts will be automatically archived.

Areas of Interest:

• Cardano Governance working groups
• Cardano marketing initiatives and public outreach
• Community hackathons and builder outreach (in person and virtual)
• Content and education creation/curation
• Mentorship and collaboration
• Education advancement
• Local policy, standards, and regulation formulations

Eligibility:

The following are examples of proposals that will not be funded in the Cardano Open: Ecosystem (non-technical) category: 

• Projects that are not primarily seeking to drive grassroots ecosystem expansion through marketing, education, community building and other means 
• Projects that focus on software or hardware design and development and are inherently technical in nature. For example, a proposal to develop a fan loyalty platform or marketing automation solution, should be included in the Cardano Use Cases or Cardano Open: Developers categories.
