With the Chang Hardfork and with Governance the future of Cardano is now in your Hands. 

More specifically in the hands of Dreps, who are responsible for making the very important decisions that will define the future of Cardano. 

If you are a Drep you need to do a lot of research and have discussions with community members. If you’re not a Drep you need to keep yourself informed about the work of your Drep, their principles, and decisions. 

This is crucial for good governance, but is not easy especially nowadays when we have very limited time and a lot of calls for our attention, especially in the Web 3 world.

There is a need to find good solutions to keep people informed and engaged in Governance, and to do that we need to make Governance and related subjects entertaining and engaging.

What better way than with a good and captivating discussion and exchange of Ideas?

With this proposal, that is what we are looking to provide, a place for captivating discussion between Dreps, with well-moderated debates, available to the entire Cardano Community.

This is a format, that has proven extremely successful across YouTube and television, and a process we intend to replicate on Cardano, to have different views over important governance topics clashing together in a healthy productive, and captivating discussion.

This will be a publicly available regular debate series on YouTube, on the Decentralized Nation YouTube channel. We will invite Dreps, to discuss some of the most pressing and actual topics about Cardano Governance, to ensure a captivating discussion people will want to watch.

Governance is a great step for Cardano, but to have good governance we need educated people, we need to have conversations and constructive discussions about the Future.

It's important to make this content widely accessible, and we will be leveraging AI software to translate this content into different languages, such as Japanese, Spanish, or French. This will ensure more people are able to watch this content and participate in Governance.

Such tools might open the opportunity to have discussions with Dreps who don't even speak English and have all that content translated in multiple different languages, to provide their ideas with a wider reach.

With the development of Governance for Cardano, we aim to create a better and fairer Governance system, one that can set an optimistic roadmap for the improvement of Governance in our Society.

A good governance system requires discussion, it requires freedom of speech where different ideas are heard, and where people with different visions are able to engage in healthy discussions about different perspectives.

We all need to care and be engaged in these governance topics to make the best decisions, and for that, we need to discuss governance topics. These debates will allow the community to know more about the different Dreps, and also to get educated about relevant governance topics by being exposed to different perspectives.

Here are some of the impacts and benefits for the Ecosystem, we believe this solution will generate:

• You get to know Dreps and understand their ideas on different topics ( helps with informed delegation)

• You get educated on these topics and make more informed decisions, by being exposed to different perspectives about the same topics.

• We will give a space for Dreps to get more awareness and reach more people, including Dreps who are non-native English speakers.

• You will have a captivating political debate you can watch, that is entertaining and where real topics are discussed with intellectual honesty, contributing to a fairer and optimal Governance Model.

With our proposal, we hope to increase the interest, engagement, and participation of the Community in Governance. We hope to increase the passion by discussing such topics and giving Dreps a space to share their ideas and share with the community all they stand for, which could help them attract more delegates with a similar vision.

To measure impact we will track and share in the report the following KPIs:

• The number of views reached by the Debates
• Reach of Twitter Posts
• Views of Twitter Shorts
• Views of Debate Summary Videos
• Number of different Dreps Participating
• Cumulated Delegation of Interviewed Dreps

[CAPABILITY & FEASIBILITY] What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

We’ve been creating content about Cardano, the Cardano Ecosystem, and Blockchain Overall for 1,5 years with more than 145 videos recorded. From these videos, we have experience with interviews and created a lot of Content in terms of Governance.

Our team has a lot of experience with video recording, video editing, scheduling events, and a lot of knowledge in Cardano.

We are active community members on Cardano for over 4 years, active on Project Catalyst (Voter, proposer, reviewer, and milestone reviewer), and Rafael is building on Cardano as part of the GenWealth team ( Crypto Inheritance and Recovery Dapp).

Our Involvement in Cardano provides us with relevant connections and relationships with Dreps in the Cardano Community, Individuals who have significant knowledge and experience to discuss these topics in-depth.

We have experience managing funds responsibly as the YouTube Channel Decentralized Nation has been funded by Deep Funding to create two Onboarding playlists, one for Deep Funding and another for Singularity Net. This proposal was completed successfully as you can see here. Overall we largely surpassed the goals and KPIs defined in the proposal. 

Juan Pablo, has valuable contributions to the Deep Funding Marketing circle, which will be useful to market these videos and increase the reach of these Debates, while Rafael is the Lead for the Deep Funding Events Circle, and is responsible for coordinating, hosting, and moderating events, a relevant experience for this project.

As for the validation of the approach, this is a format that has already been validated by Television and YouTube with many debate projects being extremely important in capturing large audiences and educating individuals. We intend to replicate this successful format on Cardano, leveraging a very successful community that cares for the future of this blockchain.

We will keep sharing updates, on the project on Twitter, where we will share snippets of the best moments of these debates, and of course on our YouTube where you will be able to watch all these debates.

[PROJECT MILESTONES] What are the key milestones you need to achieve in order to complete your project successfully?

This first milestone will be crucial to organize the rest of the project and set up the basis to be successful with the delivery and reach of this proposal.

Here are the actions we intend to take:

• Project Planning -> Plan the work and divide tasks across collaborators 

• Acquire infrastructure ->  Aquire necessary upgraded equipment to deliver professional quality debates.

• Acquire necessary software -> Acquire Recording and Debate Streaming Software, as well as AI video translation software.

• Identify Cardano Dreps -> Create a List of Potential Dreps we could invite

• Plan Topics and Sessions -> Define ideas for topics, and define potential Dates for the Dreps and execution of proposal after Catalyst Onboarding

• Create a Specific Playlist and create specific branding resources for this initiative and for the Debates.

Acceptance Criteria:

• Project Planning -> PDF with Project Planning, defining a plan, Tasks, and Team Members for the project.

• Acquire infrastructure ->  Photos of acquired Camera, Microphone, and light stand for acquired for the execution of the proposal.

• Acquire necessary software -> Receipts or screenshots of acquired debate streaming and AI Video translation software for a length equal to or superior to the length of the proposal.

• Identify Cardano Dreps -> PDF with names and social of potential Dreps to invite to debates.

• Plan Topics and Sessions -> Define ideas for topics, and define potential Dates for the Dreps and execution of proposal after Catalyst Onboarding

[RESOURCES] Who is in the project team and what are their roles?

Our Team is composed of individuals with a lot of experience in Cardano, Following Governance, and experience in Interviews, online events, Marketing, and Multimedia Content Creation and Edition. While the Team is small to keep the project efficient, and adaptable and to limit the costs of this very important endeavor, we have a Team with the required skillsets and experience to deliver the project.

Ada Price at the time of writing is 0,33$, we have rounded it down to 0,30$ for extra safety, and to ensure enough Budget to complete the proposal. 

If the price of ADA Appreciates we will re-invested any remaining funds in continuing this initiative for longer and in Bringing more debates and governance-related Interviews to Cardano.

[VALUE FOR MONEY] How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?

The Project Presents a very competitive rate in terms of hourly pay, as well as a concern to be efficient with the hours spent in the Project. 

It represents a very low investment of ADA, for a huge potential of Educating people and allowing for better choices for how to spend the Billions of dollars in the Cardano Treasury. It represents an even smaller investment in dollars, slightly superior to 19000$, considering the work of 7 months and all the tools we will need to acquire.

The Project will increase awareness and educate on the most important governance topics. We will stimulate intellectually honest discussions about relevant topics, making the community reflect on Governance decisions.

We also have a focus on translating this content to multiple different languages and making it accessible to the wider non-English speaking community.

These debates will provide a captivating space for Dreps to share their visions with the audience and attract delegation, but most of all it will disseminate ideas that will help the overall community (including other Dreps) to upgrade or form a stronger opinion on the topics discussed.

This is a very small price to pay, for more informed and optimal decisions for the future of Cardano, and an important initiative that will lead more people to follow and care about Governance, not only because it’s important but also because it’s interesting and captivating.
