The lack of secure, transparent, and immutable tracking for blood glucose levels, leading to potential data tampering, loss of health history, and reduced trust in the accuracy of shared medical data.
This is the total amount allocated to Glucose Guardian Standard: Enhancing Health for All Through Blockchain.

We will build a blockchain-based glucose tracker to securely record, verify, and share blood glucose data, ensuring transparency, immutability, and trust for users and healthcare providers.
We'll use the currently implemented and publicly released repository to add the blockchain features.
The project will be fully open source and licensed under the MIT License. All blockchain integration features, including the on-chain glucose data storage and verification functionalities, will be made available through a public GitHub repository throughout the entire project lifecycle. This ensures transparency, community contribution, and easy adoption for future enhancements.
Our proposed solution is a blockchain-based glucose tracker that securely records, verifies, and shares blood glucose data. The problem we are solving is the lack of transparent, immutable tracking of personal health data, which can lead to inaccuracies, tampering, or loss of vital health information.
By integrating Cardano blockchain, we provide users with verifiable glucose data that can be shared with healthcare providers, ensuring trust and data integrity. Our approach leverages blockchain’s immutability to prevent data manipulation, while smart contracts enable real-time alerts based on glucose levels.
The project will engage individuals managing diabetes, healthcare providers, and researchers. The platform ensures data accuracy and compliance, empowering patients to take control of their health with confidence.
On-Chain Glucose Readings: Store each glucose reading, along with date, time, and metadata (bedtime, A1C estimate, etc.), directly on the Cardano blockchain for immutability and transparency.
Verified Health Data: Allow users to share blockchain-verified glucose data with healthcare providers. The blockchain would ensure that the data is accurate and unaltered.
Data Privacy with Zero-Knowledge Proofs: Implement privacy-preserving mechanisms like zero-knowledge proofs to ensure users can share health data without exposing sensitive details.
Blockchain-Based A1C Calculation: Store A1C estimates and 14-day glucose breakdown on-chain, offering transparent tracking of overall glucose control trends.
The solution’s uniqueness lies in using blockchain technology to elevate trust in health data management. This project is important to Cardano because it showcases how blockchain can solve real-world problems in health-tech, potentially encouraging broader adoption across the healthcare industry.
Current Progress
A functional glucose tracker app is already developed with key features including blood glucose level tracking, A1C estimates, advanced data filtering, CSV/PDF export, and email sharing of data with healthcare providers. The web application is mobile-friendly, offering an intuitive and adaptive interface for users on different devices. Additionally, the platform supports the import of glucose data via CSV, making it easy for users to manage existing data.
The next phase involves integrating blockchain features such as on-chain glucose data storage, secure data verification, and decentralized identity (DID) login. The repository is publicly available, and the groundwork for blockchain integration has been set. We are prepared to begin development of these blockchain enhancements upon receiving funding.

This project is important to Cardano as it showcases the practical application of blockchain technology in enhancing securely records, verifies, and shares blood glucose data, contributing to the broader adoption of blockchain in diverse sectors.
Our project will positively impact the Cardano community by demonstrating the practical application of blockchain technology in health management, particularly in diabetes care. By providing a secure, transparent, and user-friendly glucose tracking solution, we will enhance the adoption of Cardano's blockchain among health tech developers and users.
To measure impact, we will track quantitative metrics such as the number of users adopting the glucose tracker, the frequency of data sharing with healthcare providers, and user engagement levels. Qualitatively, we will gather user feedback through surveys and testimonials to assess the effectiveness and usability of the platform.
We plan to share our outputs through a public GitHub repository, where the code and documentation will be available for the community to explore and contribute. Additionally, we will create educational resources and tutorials to guide users and developers in implementing and utilizing the system. Collaborating with health organizations and participating in Cardano community events will further facilitate knowledge sharing and showcase the project's value to the broader ecosystem. This initiative will ultimately position Cardano as a leader in health-related blockchain solutions, fostering innovation and trust in personal health management.
Our capability to deliver this project is rooted in our team's extensive experience in software development, blockchain integration, and health tech applications. We have successfully developed and deployed various projects, which lays the groundwork for integrating blockchain features. Our team members have prior experience with Cardano Catalyst projects, ensuring familiarity with the funding and development processes.
To validate the feasibility of our approach, we will undertake a phased development process, beginning with designing the blockchain architecture and testing the integration with our existing application. We will conduct user testing to gather feedback on the new features, ensuring they meet user needs and expectations.
