OUR APPROACH
Twenty first century students in Senior and Junior high schools love to join innovative clubs that teach them new and exciting innovations about computing and IT. So we intend to start CLC across schools in Ghana. We will start these clubs in one of the fastest growing cities in Ghana, which is Tamale. Students in this part of Ghana mostly lack a lot of current and relevant information about so many things.
CLC will start in the school I teach (Stepping stones education centers). The students in my school are very inquisitive and will love to be part of a club that will satisfy their
passion for new knowledge in computing. These students will serve has the Ambassadors of CLC. They will be preaching the good news of the Cardano ecosystem to their colleagues in other schools. This will lead to an explosion in membership and Ambassadors for CLC.
UNIQUENESS
CLC is going to be one of its kind in Northern Ghana. It will adequately inform and eventually train students to build games, dapps, smart contracts etc that could be deployed onto the Cardano blockchain for continuous improvements and development.
BENEFICIARIES
CLC will immensely benefit the Cardano ecosystem because as more and more students are onboarded unto the Cardano ecosystem some will choose a career path that will help to develop innovative ideas for the ecosystem.
Secondly the friends and family members of these students will also get to know the benefits of Cardano ecosystem and will join the community.
Thirdly Cardano will emerge as a house hold name in Ghana and eventually in West Africa when it comes to Blockchain technology. This will certainly give cardano an advantage over its competitors. Other Cardano ecosystem will benefit from this increased awareness and knowledge of the Cardano ecosystem, cryptocurrencies and smart contracts etc. All these will go a long way to reduce youth unemployment, crime and poverty which are currently a major challenge for governments across the length and breadth of Africa.
CLC has a team that have a combined experience of 18+ years in Curriculum development and implementation as well as blockchain evangelism.
The project will mainly be coordinated by Kojo Owusu Appiah the main proposer. He is currently the Curriculum Development officer of a Pearson Edexcel accredited school in Tamale.
Kojo has over 11 years of teaching experience. He has successfully trained students to write the Pearson Edexcel Achievement Exams in Primary and Secondary. Additionally a number of students have been trained by him to successfully write the International GCSE and International A level. He is also a block chain enthusiast. Kojo has been part of Project catalyst since Fund 8. He has participated as a Proposer and Community Reviewer in all these rounds
Jerry will be responsible for explaining and educating students on radio and television about Cardano, Blockchain, cryptocurrency ( ADA), Smart Contracts, Dapps etc. This form of mass education will help the spread of CLC in Senior and Junior high schools.
Jerry is an IT tutor in a Health College. He has been educating the youth in Ghana especially those in tertiary institutions about blockchain technology since 2016.
Currently, over 1000 youth in Ghana have been educated by Jerry. He has been actively involved in Funding Rounds as a Moderator and proposer.
Jerry is also an Ambassador for Cardano foundation.
Commencement of CLC at Stepping Stones Education Centres - Tamale.
10 students serving as active members is our acceptable criteria for milestone achievement
20+ students joining the CLC club at Stepping Stones as active members will serve as our acceptable milestone achievement
Commencing CLC at Zagyuri Anglican School.
Getting at least 20 students to join the club will serve as an acceptable achievement criteria
Successfully organizing an inter-school quiz competition between CLCs. And then crowning it all with fun games will be an acceptable achievement criteria
Jerry will be the main resource person for this project.
