Incorporate small Mayan communities to use tools based on Cardano. Treacability, DeFi, Telecommunications, NFT Supply Chain for Agro.
This is the total amount allocated to Educational Center for Ecoturism and Cardano Ecosystem Learning for Spanish Speakers..
Build a community education center for small Mayan communities that can be visited by tourists from the Mayan route where they can see the real use of technology in the heart of the mayan world.
No dependencies
The project will have available construction plans, learning management system documents, educational documents translated from English. The idea is to create a step-by-step educational model to incorporate communities into the Cardano ecosystem. From creating a wallet to operating a stake pool.
Guatemala, the heart of the Mayan world is a country with 80% of the economy informal, without access to banking, telecommunications and in many cases the most remote communities also have the problem of identity. The north of the country is mired in extreme poverty where migration to the United States is one of the few options that people see as a way out.
However, education can change many lives. Building a small educational center based on cardano ecosystem solutions can help many people access microcredits for agriculture, fertilizers for the land and development of livestock activity. Being able to have traceability of the origin of agricultural products through NFT and also access to the internet through projects like World Mobile could open a different panorama for the life of these communities.
The simple fact of having the Internet, learning to use it and creating web pages to market your artisanal and agricultural products can make a big difference.
All of the above starts with education, teaching these small Mayan communities to create a wallet, providing free internet services for local merchants (which could be with World Mobile when coverage exists) for the moment it would probably be satellite internet. Education related to microcredits and digital identity is where we should start.
The idea is that the project can be visited by local and international tourists, people who have ADA can spend it on purchasing local products and a small hostel to receive Cardano ambassadors who want to support by giving talks and developing educational events.
All of the above in the heart of a small indigenous Mayan community in northern Guatemala.
The impact of the project for the global Cardano community is based on the real use of the ecosystem being evident.
In addition to documenting the existence of a real economy based on the ecosystem, the global community could visit the educational center, pay in ADA for lodging and food for the time they want to be there. It could also be visited by Cardano ambassadors for teaching specific tools or update events. You can visit a community where the use of ADA is real.
It will also serve to demonstrate once again to the world that the Cardano ecosystem is designed for those most in need, all those communities where there is no traditional banking and free access telecommunications and internet systems.
I am an electronic engineer by profession and I grew up in the Alta Verapaz region of northern Guatemala (the region where I propose to build a Cardano educational center), I know people who already have ecotourism projects, tour operators and knowledge of the area.
I have developed large-scale projects in my profession as an engineer. I believe that funds can be disbursed based on objectives achieved. The first phase could be the preparation of construction plans, acquisition of the property, beginning of construction, delivery of educational material in a GitHub repository, and finally the infrastructure and furniture of the educational center ready for operation. The last thing could be the first educational events with the community and the reception of the first members of the community who wish to do so and some ambassador to demonstrate the progress of the project.
Acquisition of property for the construction of the educational center. The above can be evidenced with the respective property registry documents.
Delivery of plans for the construction of the main building and preparation of the detailed budget for the project.
Carry out the first construction work on the site. Evidence this with photographs and visits from trusted Cardano ambassadors.
Completed gray work of the main building. Visit of prestigious Cardano ambassadors to demonstrate the progress of the work and make plans for the educational project. At this stage, the first part of the educational material that will be used for visitors to the center is also delivered.
The final milestone will be the educational center fully constructed and ready to recieve the first students.
I have considered hiring a local civil engineer, a sworn translator (for the translation of the educational material) and a team of local bricklayers who will be in charge of the construction.
Below are the main amounts for the destination of the funds.
Property acquisition and legal deed expenses, 15K USD.
Construction of the main property, 30K USD.
Furnished facilities (desks, whiteboard, projector, etc.) 15K USD.
Solar energy panels and internet equipment 8K USD.
Preparation of educational material in local language and Spanish 2K USD.
The costs of the project have been estimated with real estate advisors in the sector in the case of the property, a civil engineer who has based himself on a small sketch to estimate the construction costs (which have been validated with the average price per square meter in the sector), the estimated labor cost has been provided by a bricklayer and carpenter, the cost for electrical energy has been consulted with a local solar energy supplier and the translation costs have been carried out with local translators.
