There is a lack of knowledge and engagement around Catalyst from students that know web 3. There is a big community that could participate in the next funds but don’t know the existence of Catalyst.
This is the total amount allocated to French prestigious engineers students for Catalyst.
We will organize workshops with an existing student blockchain community to incentivize them to participate in the next funds. We will help them to make proposals in the next funds.
Yes, as this idea is supposed to be held with Kryptosphere, that is the biggest web 3 student community in France, and the project makes sense only with them. However, if this doesn't work, we also have contacts with Blockchain Student Association (a student association in Lausanne, Switzerland) or with blockchain teachers in both University of Geneva and University of Zurich (2 top-tiered universities in the world).
Project will be fully open source.
We want to educate students that are already aware of the blockchain world about Catalyst, to make them participate in the next funds.
To do so, we will do multiple workshops in different French cities. We plan to do it first in Paris, Lyon and Grenoble. In these workshops, we will explain what Catalyst is, give our testimony about our experiences of Catalyst, and organize a little challenge that will be a simulation of what could be a participation to Catalyst.
This will allow these students to understand Catalyst, and have an idea of what is participating in it in an interactive way. Therefore, we will be able to know who is really involved and pleased by Catalyst, and shape a good team for the next funds.
To finish, we will accompany the people that will be wanting to participate to guide them during their experiences with Catalyst, and help them to be funded, notably by participating in their team and try to create a bigger impact.
Our solution is allowing people that are already qualified to participate in Catalyst. In the community in which we want to intervene, there are people that have hugely valuable knowledge on the tech side of blockchain, on digital laws (MiCa for instance), on business aspect of Blockchain…
Bringing them to be participants of the next funds could be a very good asset for Catalyst, and help them to have their first experience in the web 3 world or expand their already existing experience. The Cardano ecosystem will then be able to host the first experience of talented persons, which could make them work on Cardano later in their career.
We are 3 dedicated people to this project. We all have a good experience in the blockchain world. Moreover, Benjamin already has an informational Youtube channel explaining Catalyst, and have been participating since F8. Liâm has been participating in F10, and writing articles about blockchain and Cardano as well, notably interviewing Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the CF.
The organization Kryptosphere has easy access to material to organize the workshops and the challenges. They also have a really active student community that has for interest the blockchain world, which avoids the problem of finding relevant people to participate in our challenges.
We already had a call with the Head of Partnership France of Kryptosphere. This call was pretty encouraging, and we already started to have contact with a few people from the city entities to be more precise on the organization of these events. We have a great hope for these contacts to be successful. Moreover, other points of contacts have been done for other purposes.
For accountability, it will be easy to deliver accurate information, as the data will be directly accessible. The number of participants, the number of people interested in participation in the next funds, the numbers of schools represented in our workshops… All these will be accessible right after the workshops.
Month 1-2 :
=> Having an overview of what is possible with Kryptosphere, define and start to work on what the event will look like and its communication
=> Acceptance : a plan of what will the event look like is existing, a presentation is started (finished if possible)
Month 3-4 :
=> Put in place the communication plan, enforcing collaborations to have more confort running the event (food sponsors, maybe medias...)
=> Acceptance : content are created in time, marketing has been started internally and externally
Month 5 (April 2024) :
=> Events happening, reports, feedbacks
=> Acceptance : proofs of the event having been held, reports on these, reports on feedbacks
Month 6-9 :
=> A community of builders, new projects in next funds
=> Acceptance : a group is created with interested persons, we make a new proposal in next funds with at least 1 person onboarded thanks to these events.
Liâm Bodin is a 19 years-old student in the University of Geneva, passionate by use cases of blockchain technology. He works as a Business Developer in Cointribune, top 1 crypto media in France, and has been involved in few crypto event creation (notably in Universities as University of Geneva, and EPFL in Lausanne)
His role : will participate in the overall organisation of all this process, from establishing collaborations to holding the events

Benjamin is a young student that is really interested in Blockchain, and that already participated in previous funds.
In fund 8 helped to do the marketing for an art project
Got 3 funded proposals on fund 9 based on the education of students about Blockchain, and especially, Cardano and Catalyst.
Here is a link to the closing report and closing video of the proposals.

Has also been a reviewer for fund 9 and could give his opinion on really interesting projects.

Both of them have been to the Cardano summit that was held in Lausanne, and had the opportunity to learn a lot and meet some amazing people.
Pier-François is a student on an internship in Real Estate Private Equity. In business school, he had the opportunity to be president of a student marketing consultancy. His experience and contacts within the French student community will be very useful.
Passionate about blockchain and convinced that Cardano is the blockchain of the future, he also proposes another project in "DAOs <3 Cardano", here's the link:

Marketing management and communication creation for before and after the different events (video editing, ads creation, photo editing…) → 45 hours x 115 ADA = 5175 ADA
Organization of the event → 45 hours x 80 ADA = 3600 ADA
Animation of the Workshop → 36 hours x 80 ADA = 2880 ADA
Management of the community and follow up of the projects with the interested team of participants → 45 hours x 80 ADA = 3600 ADA
Food and goodies for the events → 810 ADA * 3 = 2430 ADA
Transport → 1 two-way travel by train = 450 ADA x 2 persons x 3 events → 2700 ADA
Housing → 2 nights for 2 persons = 500 ADA x 3 events → 1500 ADA
Reward for the winner of the challenges → 250 ADA x 3 persons x 3 workshops = 2250 ADA
Total = 24135 ADA
The budget represents well the needed time to organize this kind of partnership, as well as the resources needed to be able to hold it comfortably. As the proposers are not all based in the same cities, and the expected number of participants is too big to manage for only one person, at least 2 persons of our team will need to travel to attend the events. This needs costs, but it is necessary in our opinion to have enough speakers from our team to hold the event and manage it perfectly. For the prices, we took in consideration the average price of train and housing for travels in France.
The fact that the participants to our workshops will already be involved in the blockchain ecosystem is a huge plus-value. Bringing these people to the Cardano community is a big goal for us, and that’s why we will take a lot of time to do the needed work. For that, we think it is important to have an incentive (the 200 ADA for the winners of our challenges).
