Background:
Most farmers in Africa lack the knowledge of cardano blockchain as well as cryptocurrency. because of that, I will make a research to educate, innovate and empower them about the importance of cryptocurrency, cardano blockchain and wallet creation(yoroi, eternal). This project will leverage farmers understanding of cardano blockchain which will enable anyone know into details about cardano network which broadens and expand the cardano ecosystem.
The project seeks to organize a series of research to be made at varius farms in Ghana where everyone can have access to it, to introduce and promote the ideals of Project Catalyst. These project seek to educate farmers on the ideas of blockchain technology and develop their skills in blockchain entrepreneurship and empower them with the catalyst funding opportunity for them to create solutions and leverage catalysts to solve problems in their farms.
How the project will be implemented:
The project will be hosted for three months which will involve moving from farm to farm to collect data from farmers about cryptocurrency, cardano blockchain and wallet creation in the first month, data entry/project writing for second month and Results publihing for the last month.
BELOW WILL BE DONE FOR THE FIRST MONTH WHICH WILL INVOLVE TAKING QUESTIONNAIRES ON THE CRETERIA; cryptocurrency, cardano blockchain, and wallet creation: MAY,2024
The cryptocurrency session:
This will be done by onboarding farmers to the cryptocurrency and blockchain revolution since most of them will be newbies to the cryptocurrency space. This will provide an insight into the fundamentals of digital currencies, the impact of the satoshi community and what potentials and resources are available in blockchain technology. The session will also educate farmers on the evolution of money; from barter to bitcoin. Farmers will also learn how to download, install and set up Yoroi wallets; mobile and web wallets, and then be trained on sending and receiving ADA, staking ADA and trading ADA with other tokens and currencies on exchange platforms.
The cardano blockchain session:
This session will introduce farmers to project catalyst to explain its purpose, opportunities and resources available for them to leverage. The session will cover catalyst challenges, Proposal Assessment, Challenge Team, cardano Ideascale account creation, proposal submission, governance, execution and reporting of proposals to the catalyst community. Farmers will at the end of the day, be abreast with cryptocurrencies, Cardano blockchain and project catalyst.
The wallet creation session:
This session will involve taking farmer through of how to download yoroi, eternal wallets into their smart phones and the necessary procedures involved. Will also caution them about the privacy of their recovery phrases. Airdrop/incentives for farmers creating the yoroi wallets successfully.
The proposal will address the challenge by;
1.Enhancing adoption, communication and knowledge sharing in the cardano network which are explained below;
2.Reaching out to about 50+ farmers who views, shares and comments.
3.Broadens the cardano community as long-term growth.
Metrics:
This will involve;
I am a final year student from the university for development studies(UDS) Nyankpala campus studying Bsc Agriculture technology(AGT) who is going to write a research project to fulfill my final year academic program under Faculty of agriculture, food and consumer sciences in the department of agriculture and food economics. I have good relationship with students, student leaderships and most of the management in the university.
I am also a student entrepreneur and have the passion of skills development, education and organizing meetups and events. I am an alumnus of the university for development studies who studied diploma in Agriculture technology.
I also have strong knowledge about cardano blockchain, cryptocurrency and project catalyst and have attended over 15 meetups which talks about cardano blockchain. I am strong and conversant to manage project funds both in fiat (USD), (GHS) and in cryptocurrency(ADA). It is good to convert some of the funds to stablecoin(USDT) to avoid depletion of project funds due to cryptocurrency volatility. This will ensure an optimum use of resources for the success of the project. Below are some pictures of cardano events I have attended across Ghana.

COST BREAKDOWN FOR MILESTONE 1
50 papers = 50x50ADA
= 2,500ADA
TOTAL AMOUNT = 2500 + 100 + 5550 + 2500 = 10,650ADA
COST BREAKDOWN FOR MILESTONE 2
TOTAL AMOUNT = 500 + 1100 + 1400 = 3,000ADA
COST BREAKDOWN FOR MILESTONE 3
Printing 4 hardcopies for project work = 4x500 = 2,000ADA
TOTAL BUDGET OF PROJECT = 10650 + 3000 + 2000 = 15,650ADA
NB: The above budget include all expenses, feeding, and transportation.
There cannot be a project without resources. The cost items indicated in the aforementioned budget represent the cost for the entire project period, and I will highlight on key items below;
The budget is stated in ADA and not in USD and hence leaves uncertainties for everyone in the community as the fall in the price of ADA could affect funding and vice versa. Hence, it is prudent to leverage Cardano's DJED or Tether's USDT or other stable coins to preserve funds and prevent the depletion of project funds. Again, local expenses are incurred in local fiat (Ghanaian Cedis), which are affected by inflation and hence, there is the need to be economically sound in purchases to ensure expenses are covered without any difficulties. It is important to also have a convenient savings account to keep exchange withdrawals for covering project expenses.
I am sure and strongly believe that, the budget will see an optimum use to serve the purpose of the project to achieve the KPIs and deliver successfully without any shortages or loss of funds.
