Summary
When innovators in mainstream businesses and industries experimented with blockchain applications in the past, they were mostly frustrated by experiencing 'overpromising and under-delivering.' Therefore, blockchain is currently out of fashion; attention, interest, and money are flowing toward the next hype based on AI. Re-kindling engagement with blockchain is even more complicated, as there is no comprehensive catalog of implementable Web 3.0 applications for business and industry with business-focused problem/solution descriptions.
Here is where our proposal comes in: We will perform an industry-focused assessment of such Web 3.0 applications of the Cardano ecosystem and produce a detailed, business-value-focused catalog. This will be the basis for the potential subsequent development of solutions with ideal product/market fit. We plan to periodically update the Business Application Catalog (this project will cover the initial research and the first accessible prototype version of the catalog).
What we will deliver:
This project will produce the following deliverables:
- Establish the latest knowledge about value-adding and risk-reducing blockchain solutions for business and industry, described in a compact document.
- Proof: Concept Paper (approx. 10,000 words)
- Create a 2024 Pilot Catalog showing the identified applications and potential pathways to specification, development, PoC, piloting and implementation.
- Proof: Accessible on a dedicated Website & digital format (e.g. PDF)
- Creating communication material.
- Proof: Publicly available material for PR and communication (Primer, short presentation, short video clip)
The impact will be:
- Identifying major Web 3.0 applications with product/market fit
- Preparing the ground for eventual subsequent product and service specifications and developments
- Re-kindling the attention and interest of major players in business and industry
- Involving experts from business, industry, and academia
- Helping the community focus on real, promising applications
- Providing a professional starting point for an effective and efficient innovation funnel
[IMPACT] Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community.
How this proposal delivers value to the Cardano ecosystem:
- Identifying promising opportunities: This project will identify THE most promising opportunities for future developments of business and industry applications.
- Grow awareness about CARDANO: The resulting catalog will be used in active PR/Communication (mainly on YouTube and LinkedIn) and will help position CARDANO as a value-adding application suite for future-proof business and industry applications.
- Grow expert relationships: Create close relationships with leading players in the creator and developer community as well as in the community of potential customers in business and industry.
- Basis for effective customer acquisition: The results of this project can be used for many activities with a focus on real-world clients and partnering up with businesses and industries.
How can/will success be measured?
- Number of solutions listed
- Number of interactions with potential clients and experts
- Number of involved tools, products, services, and solution providers
- Number of resulting product and service developments
- Number of resulting PoCs, pilot projects, and business/industry implementations
[CAPABILITY & FEASIBILITY] What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?

[VALUE FOR MONEY] How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?
The following background is essential for understanding our project costing:
- We will handle the main work in Europe, where the average cost rate of ADA 250 per hour is the lowest rate possible for covering the risk of exchange-rate fluctuations, and the needs of our expert-level contributors, including the related taxation and social security costs.
- We will acquire freelance services like back-office support and web development from well-known resources, whenever possible, located in cost-saving locations (mainly Brazil).
[IMPORTANT NOTE] The Applicant agrees to Fund Rules and also that data in the submission form and other data provided by the project team during the course of the project will be publicly available.
