The Problem.

Have you ever looked on a streaming service for hours trying to find new music you actually like? Do you ever look through their recommendations and see the same artists over and over again? You are probably not alone they use tags and algorithms. Streaming services are amazing but they don't do a lot for new and underrepresented artists.

The Solve.

The MixTape DApp will leverage human suggestion through the creation of mixtapes(playlists) by our DJ's(music/taste curators), for our listeners to engage with through a bi-weekly contest.

The How.

• Bi weekly hundreds of DJ's, otherwise know as music curators will create a 45min playlist and upload it to the Mixtape DApp.

• Once uploaded our listeners will have the ability to listen to their favorite DJ's or browse a list of the top Mixtapes, in a multitude of musical genre. The listers are giving 100 likes per cycle to give out to the songs they like the most. If you like a song and it is your first time hearing it the algorithm will weight those likes higher. This will create Mixtapes that are not only filled with great songs but also songs the majority of people have not heard before. This helps artists that are really great but are having a hard time being discovered through traditional streaming services.

The Why.

• Artists - Mixtape helps artists that are really great but are having a hard time being discovered through traditional streaming services.
• DJ's - The DJ's are rewarded in a couple of ways for their contribution depending on their ranking in the bi-weekly contest. We will make these DJ's famous.
• Listeners - Listeners are rewarded with amazing new and underrepresent music on a bi-weekly basis.
• Cardano - With the Cardano community exploding with impressive projects in the music, music-video and film space, a DApp is needed to apply human taste, curation and some great tech together to help the eventual issue of having thousands if not millions of pieces of great art in one big list on a page.

As stated in the Solution section we will be helping to solve the eventual issue projects will have when they have thousands/millions pieces of art and need to rank and order them. We will start with music and will move to music videos and film through other branded DApps in the future.

I have been running businesses and brands for my entire career. Happy to field questions :)

I will be the first person to admit that my first action is to find a co-founder for everything technical. I have a good understanding but my skills are mainly focused on product management, branding, marketing and business/sales.
