Use cases deliver adoption and real world utility of Cardano to a global base of users and customers. Use cases can be in the nature of applications, products, and new services that lay the foundations for innovative business ideas to flourish on Cardano.

The Cardano Use Cases: MVP category is aimed towards projects seeking to develop and test the technical feasibility of solutions and prepare the innovation to a minimum viable product (MVP) stage of readiness.

Proposers in this category must demonstrate that the innovation in the product, service, or innovative business model functionally works. 

By the end of your proposed project, you should be able to demonstrate the extent that the proposed MVP is usable on and beneficial to Cardano or a Cardano L2 service, side-chain, or partner-chain.

Submissions are encouraged from proposers of products or services that intend to deploy first the solution via the suite of testnet environments offered by the wider Cardano ecosystem, before deploying live onto the Cardano mainchain. 

Funding Guidance:

Applicants can submit a proposal for funding of up to ₳300k in Cardano Use Cases: MVP category. Proposals requesting larger amounts will be automatically archived.

Projects in this category do not need to be open source and may be proprietary, however in all cases the proposed technology solution must be for the benefit of the Cardano ecosystem. 

Applications must include evidence of an existing prototype that is made publicly available and accessible to the Cardano community as part of the submission process. 

Areas of Interest:

• Disruptive ideas for industrial innovation using Cardano blockchain and smart contracts
• Identity, privacy, and zero knowledge applications and implementations
• Web3 integrations for gaming and entertainments
• Technical blockchain development converging with other exponential technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine-to-machine, next-generation distributed compute
• Projects and ventures porting from or bridging other ecosystems to Cardano (eg wallet adding ADA or Cardano Native Token CNT support) 
• Projects which make use of Cardano-based scaling solutions such as Hydra or alternatives 

Eligibility: 

The following are examples of proposals that will not be funded under the Cardano Use Cases: MVP category: 

• Proposals that do not include an existing prototype as part of the proposal application. 
• Prototypes must be visibly and clearly highlighted and explained with relevant context and access within the body of the proposal as part of the solution (not just URLs, etc)
• Prototype must be publicly accessible to verify its existence (eg github repo or public url).
• Prototype must be available for testing to validate it is working/functional. If the prototype does not have general UI available and consists of code only - relevant documentation must be provided to be able to run/test/reproduce prototype outcomes independently
• For proposals that focus exclusively on brand new product or service ideas that have not yet been designed and tested as a proof of concept. If prototypes are not available yet - in such circumstances - Cardano Use Cases: Concept is the right place for submission instead 
• Proposals to develop content to information-only websites and blogs
