Cardano txs show data but hide intent. Without a semantic layer, actions like swaps or lending need costly, custom queries, slowing monitoring and limiting ecosystem transparency.
Tx3 maps Cardano txs to protocol functions, auto-creating dashboards with live, intent-aware metrics—removing manual decoding, cutting setup time, and boosting dev team efficiency.

Does your project have any dependencies on other organizations, technical or otherwise?
No
Describe any dependencies or write 'No dependencies'
No dependencies
Will your project's outputs be fully open source?
Yes
License and Additional Information
Public repository and Apache 2.0 Licence
Please choose the most relevant theme and tag related to the outcomes of your proposal
Analytics
Mention your open source license and describe your open source license rationale.
We chose Apache 2.0 for its permissive and business-friendly terms, allowing anyone to freely use, modify, and distribute the code while ensuring broad adoption. It provides clear patent protection and contributor liability clauses, fostering both open collaboration and commercial integration without restrictive copyleft obligations
How do you make sure your source code is accessible to the public from project start, and people are informed?
The repository will be open and accesible from day 1. We will share updates and releases in public channels such as X and discord. There will be a dedicated discord channel in Txpipes server for this project.
How will you provide high quality documentation?
We will use a public documentation site on our documentation repository docs.txpipe.io as we have been doing with all our open source projects in the past. This allows us to provide high quality documentation to the public.
Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
Building dApps is really hard, especially in the UTxO model. dApp developers need to focus on too many things: on-chain contracts, off-chain logic, UX/UI, frontend development, backend development, etc.
Many of these concerns are core to the business, but some are just required boilerplate that slows down development. One such concern is monitoring your dApp once it is live.
Once development is finished and a dApp is running, builders will want to:
Sadly, transactions in the UTxO model lack semantic context. In order to monitor these concerns, dApp developers need to build ad-hoc solution that hardcode the missing context in their data analsysis workflow and queries.
This proposal aims to provide a low-effort solution for creating dApp-specific dashboards that fulfill the most of the monitoring concerns without having to reinvent the wheel. To supply the missing context which is dApp specific, we're going to rely heavily on the Tx3 interface language.
Tx3 is a DSL (domain-specific language) that developers can use to provide the context needed to interpret the on-chain activity of a particular dApp. By providing a Tx3 protocol definition file, the monitoring system will be able to interpret on-chain transactions and present them in terms of user intents and data structures that are specific to the dApp.
This approach will unlock the following monitoring features:
The following represent the core components of the solution:
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
By making semantic monitoring available out of the box, this project makes it much easier to interpret on-chain activity in Cardano protocols. Developers, analysts, and the community will be able to see user actions and protocol function usage directly from automatically generated dashboards—without the need to build custom queries or transaction mapping logic.
Easier access to clear, contextual protocol data will improve transparency, lower the barrier to ecosystem analytics, and enable faster feedback loops for protocol teams. The result is better-informed development workflows and more meaningful public insight into how Cardano protocols are used, strengthening the community’s ability to make data-driven decisions.
What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?
TxPipe is an active member of the Cardano ecosystem
TxPipe has been developing open-source tools for the Cardano ecosystem for over 2 years and we're not going anywhere. Evidence of our commitment can be found by evaluating the continuous activity of our public code repositories.
Experience developing in the Cardano ecosystem
TxPipe has helped developed several dApps for the Cardano ecosystem. This experience allows us to evaluate the feasibility of the project and its potential benefit from a developer's perspective.
Successful Catalyst proposals
We have successfully completed several Catalyst proposals. This may serve as evidence that our team has the required capabilities to fulfill these type of projects.
Development process will be public and open-source
Both the output and the development process will be public and open-source. This approach provides an easy way for the Catalyst team and the Cardano community to evaluate the progress at each step of the process.

How does the cost of the project represent value for the Cardano ecosystem?
The bulk of the budget falls under the software development category. TxPipe has extensive experience in the field, allowing it to provide good value for money. The hourly rates are defined using fair market prices. The estimation for the level of effort takes into account all of the optimizations that our team is capable of providing after years of experience developing software solutions in the Cardano ecosystem.
