Who you’re targeting, how you’ll reach them, and why this matters for Cardano.
The scope of the project will empower Ethiopian orphaned children in Komblcha with blockchain talent and link them to the Cardano community to make them ready to work in the technological sector in the future.
Provide a list of key activities of your project?
To finance an education program in blockchain, free to Ethiopian orphans, we will create and market good quality T-shirts under the brand Cardano. Through this program, the following will be provided:
Pracular schools and orphanages workshops.
courses Amharic and English.
Guidance by Cardano community volunteers.
This is a combination of economic activity in local areas and global community and is the face of Cardano as an instrument of change.
What are your success metrics?
1,000 Cardano T-shirts sold in year.
50+ orphaned children complete blockchain program with certificates.
80%+ student satisfaction in surveys.
At least 3 Cardano community mentors engaged.
Curriculum downloaded or reused by 2+ external educators
Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
There are four components of our project:
1.Manufacture and Market 1,000 Cardano-Labelled Tees
Make super nice, culturally attracting T-shirts that have Cardano branding.
As much as possible, manufacture locally so that Ethiopian businesses get an advantage in textile.
Sale to the local markets (in Addis Ababa, markets, events) and online internationally through an e-commerce portal.
2.Fund Classes of blockchain orphans
Ensure that any net proceeds generated by the sale of T-shirts are used to fund blockchain educative programs.
Target orphanages and care homes in Addis Ababa first will be given as priority.
3.Provide an Accessible Curriculum
Develop early-stage modules in Blockchain using both Amharic and English language.
Have interactive sessions, team assignments and the application of blockchain wallets.
Restrict the use of internet on children and give them print items to learn.
4.Raise local educators & Cardano volunteers as mentors
Collaborate with educators in schools and technological centers to conduct face-to-face lessons.
Welcome members of the Cardano community across the globe to share their experience as virtual mentors and as guest lecturers.
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
We will make a beneficial contribution on various levels:
Awareness &Engagement: Cardano should appear worldwide through T-shirt campaigns that indicate where money goes.
Education & Empowerment: 50+ orphaned kids learn practical blockchain knowledge, as well as understanding of future career prospects through blockchain.
Brand Strengthening: Establishes Cardano as a blockchain ecosystem that is there to make a difference, on a social level, rather than technology.
Open Knowledge: Develop a freely accessible, Open-source, blockchain education library in Amharic and English to be used by the community continuously.
Development of the Community: Better relations between the Ethiopian tech enterprise and the world network of Cardano.
What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?
Local Relationships: The group has developed contacts with several orphanages and scools in Kombolcha.
Past Proven Fundraising: Foreknowledge of business in terms of merchandise sales and charity drives.
Technological Knowledge: The curriculum will be created by professed blockchain teachers who are knowledgeable in blockchain technology, as well as the difficulty to teach it to newbies.
Pilot-first, scale-later: Using the program will start with one orphanage as a pilot, gathering feedbacks by the teachers and students, and then scales to other places.
Monitoring & Reporting: Progress reports will be shared with the Catalyst community regularly and in a transparently financial way.
Milestone Title
T-Shirt Design & Production
Milestone Outputs
Come up with and refine three professional Cardano-branded versions of mockups of T-shirts using the Ethiopian culture and the identity of Cardano. Take community feedback to arrive at final design. Make 1,000 locally produced high-quality T-shirts, if possible, do it ethically and ensure quality management. This move will create the financial base upon which the education program will be financed.
Acceptance Criteria
Design options have been developed to fit the community and Cardano branding, through three distinctive options.
Final design is chosen and accepted by stakeholders in the project.
1,000 T-shirts that are consistently well made with quality controls and verified through quality checks and supplier confirmation.
KPI: The end of Month 2 will achieve 100% production and delivery of planned T-shirts ready to be sold and enabling materials and production timelines to be achieved.
Evidence of Completion
Photos of all design options and final approved design.
Signed production contract with supplier.

How does the cost of the project represent value for the Cardano ecosystem?
The merging of physical product sales (i.e. Cardano branded T-shirt sales) with investments in environmental and social causes within the Catalyst funding ecosystem is also present in the project. With the association of revenue production and a good economic influence at the local level, it will guarantee that earnings are channeled back into learning and literacy of blockchain and local sustainable development. Outputs, such as curricula, marketing materials and program documentation are all fully open-source so that anyone can view, reuse, or build upon them. Such transparency and accessibility are not only reinforcing the Cardano ecosystem, but also generate long-term, scalable value to the local communities involved. Merging business and targeted investments, the project will also provide immediate financial value to the project with a long-term positive social and environmental impact to guarantee purposeful and measurable benefits to both Cardano and the entire region it operates in.
