Who you’re targeting, how you’ll reach them, and why this matters for Cardano.
We target students from 10 universities in Goma, DRC, a high-potential group for blockchain adoption.
We will reach them via partnerships with university authorities, student associations, local media, and social networks, leading to on-campus training. The program ends with the “Question for a Champion – Cardano Winner” tournament, awarding ADA prizes.
This will create skilled, motivated youth who can grow Cardano in francophone Africa, blending education, competition, and rewards for lasting impact.

Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
In Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, blockchain technology represents a strategic opportunity to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital inclusion—particularly among youth and university students. Among the existing blockchain ecosystems, Cardano stands out globally for its scientific rigor, research-driven approach, and strong commitment to social impact. Despite a growing interest, its local adoption remains limited, largely due to the lack of hands-on activities, structured follow-up, and formal evaluation systems adapted to the academic context of the region.
Since 2023, we have been actively involved in training students, entrepreneurs, and professionals on Cardano and Web3 through our Onboarding Program. This initiative has enabled us to train over 200 young people, entrepreneurs, and investors in Cardano blockchain technologies. However, a crucial question remains: Are these trained individuals truly able to integrate and contribute meaningfully to the Cardano ecosystem?
Currently, the Onboarding Program targets a very diverse audience: students, investors, business operators, and cryptocurrency enthusiasts. Yet, within Goma’s universities, we have observed a clear gap: the majority of students are still unaware of Cardano’s existence and potential, despite being a prime audience for its adoption and local development.
Furthermore, there is no consistent evaluation framework to measure participants’ knowledge after training, nor concrete mechanisms to encourage direct engagement within the ecosystem.
In many cases, after completing the training, participants leave without ever handling ADA in a wallet, limiting their ability to actively promote Cardano in real-life contexts and to become effective community ambassadors.
Additionally, local media outlets, a powerful channel for community outreach remain largely uninformed or unengaged when it comes to Cardano-related knowledge. This reduces the reach and effectiveness of awareness efforts.
This project aims to address these gaps by strengthening Cardano’s presence in Goma’s universities, implementing a structured knowledge evaluation system, enabling practical blockchain experimentation, and engaging media partners to amplify outreach.
We propose organizing a “Question for a Champion – Cardano Winner” tournament, with rewards in ADA.
Since the tournament will focus on questions related to the Cardano blockchain, it will be paired with an in-person training program on Cardano. The goal is to introduce Cardano to these universities and ensure that participating institutions already have foundational knowledge on the topics from which the questions will be drawn.
This approach will allow students to gain additional expertise on Cardano while giving us a way to measure their understanding, encourage their engagement, and highlight the best profiles as potential future Cardano ambassadors in the Democratic Republic of Congo, particularly in the city of Goma.
The project will take place in two complementary phases:
Phase 1. In-Person Training
We will organize practical, interactive workshops on Cardano in 10 key universities in Goma.
The training will cover:
Target universities:
The training will address various Cardano and Web3 topics.
Note: Students will also be encouraged to conduct independent research on the latest developments in Web3 and blockchain to better prepare for the competition.
After training, each university will select five students who have best mastered the content, based on an online test (e.g., via Kahoot). these students will represent their university in the inter-university competition.
Pre-tournament rewards (per university):
**Phase 2: "Question for a Champion-Cardano Winner" competition. **
Ten universities will compete in a single-elimination tournament:
Final rewards in ADA:
🥇 1st place (Champion) – 1500 ADA
🥈 2nd place (Finalist) – 1000 ADA
🥉 3rd place (Winner of 3rd place match) – 700 ADA
🎖️ 4th place (Loser of 3rd place match) – 300 ADA
Important:
This educational, competitive, and engaging approach is designed to firmly anchor Cardano in the local university ecosystem and spark a sustainable dynamic of learning, ownership, and active participation in the blockchain space.
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
This project is designed not only as an educational and competitive initiative but also as a catalyst for meaningful contributions to the Cardano ecosystem. Its impacts can be summarized across four key areas:
What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?
The Goma Hub is one of the most consistent and engaged community hubs in the Cardano ecosystem, active since 2020. With strong local roots, technical capabilities, and a commitment to governance, Goma Hub has successfully led several educational initiatives, including Francophone summits, community workshops, and awareness campaigns. This project builds on this ongoing foundational work.
Since its creation, Goma Hub has received Project Catalyst funding three times, demonstrating its reliability and ability to deliver structured projects:
These projects have proven our competence in project management, team coordination, community communication, and documentation, essential elements for the success of any Catalyst-funded initiative.

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources
This project requests the following budget, distributed across the key milestones:
Milestone 1: 3,819 ADA
Milestone 2: 6,383 ADA
Milestone 3: 3,183 ADA
Milestone 4: 46,076 ADA
Milestone 5: 467 ADA
Total : 59,928 ADA
How does the cost of the project represent value for the Cardano ecosystem?
This project delivers significant value for the allocated budget of 59,928 ADA by combining education, community engagement, and direct ecosystem impact in a structured and measurable way. The funds will be efficiently utilized across four key areas:
Education and Training: Organizing practical workshops in 10 universities ensures hands-on learning for over 200 students, creating a strong foundation of knowledge in Cardano and Web3.
Competition and Incentives: The ADA rewards for 50 selected students and top teams motivate participation, increase engagement, and provide real-world experience in blockchain applications, maximizing the return on each ADA spent.
Community Building and Outreach: By forming university ambassador profiles, conducting awareness campaigns, and involving local media, the project expands Cardano’s reach organically and sustainably, amplifying impact without excessive cost.
Documentation and Proof of Impact: Deliverables such as final reports, videos, and testimonials ensure transparency and measurable outcomes, providing verifiable evidence that every ADA spent directly contributes to tangible results.
Overall, this project leverages the 59,928 ADA budget to create long-term educational impact, expand the Cardano ecosystem in Goma, and identify future community leaders, making it a high-value investment for both the local and global Cardano network.
