What is the problem you want to solve?
Most Ethiopians lack blockchain knowledge due to language barriers, leaving them excluded and vulnerable to scams.
Does your project have any dependencies on other organizations, technical or otherwise?
Yes
Describe any dependencies or write 'No dependencies'
This project does not depend on the successful completion of any other Catalyst-funded project to begin execution. However, the following external factors will contribute to its success: Access to Reliable Internet – Stable internet connectivity is necessary for content uploads, live AMA streaming, and online promotion. Availability of Local Blockchain Experts – Required for script review, fact-checking, and occasional guest appearances. Community Collaboration – Partnerships with Ethiopian crypto communities, influencers, and Cardano ambassadors to boost reach and engagement. Social Media Platform Stability – YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and Telegram must remain accessible in Ethiopia during the project timeline. Translation & Voiceover Resources – Availability of skilled Amharic translators and voice artists to maintain high-quality language localization. These dependencies will be proactively monitored, and contingency plans (e.g., alternative platforms, pre-recorded AMA sessions) will be in place to minimize risk.
Will your project's outputs be fully open source?
Yes
License and Additional Information
The educational videos, subtitles, and scripts produced in this project will be released under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license. This ensures that the materials can be freely shared, adapted, and redistributed — even commercially — provided proper credit is given.
The materials will be hosted on YouTube, GitHub, and Google Drive for free access, ensuring long-term availability beyond the Catalyst funding period.

Who you’re targeting, how you’ll reach them, and why this matters for Cardano.
We target Ethiopian youth, entrepreneurs, and citizens lacking blockchain education in Amharic. We’ll reach them via YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Telegram, and WhatsApp, plus influencer partnerships and targeted ads. This matters for Cardano as it builds informed African participation, drives adoption, reduces scam risk, and strengthens Catalyst voting and governance engagement.
Provide a list of key activities of your project?
Activities: Pre-production (scripts, branding); produce 24× 15–20 min Amharic educational videos; translation, subtitles, voiceover; publish via social platforms; run 2 AMAs; collaborate with influencers; track analytics and survey feedback; deliver impact report and sustainability plan.
What are your success metrics?
Success: 24 videos in 14 weeks; 100,000+ views; 10,000+ engagements; 500+ survey responses showing improved blockchain knowledge; increase in Ethiopian Cardano wallets, staking, and Catalyst voting; 20% growth in local blockchain communities.
Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
Problem
Most Ethiopians lack accessible blockchain education in their native language. Existing resources are in English, overly technical, and disconnected from local culture. This creates a knowledge gap, leaves many feeling excluded, and increases vulnerability to scams. Without culturally relevant and clear guidance, millions remain unprepared to safely engage in blockchain opportunities like Cardano.
Solution
We will deliver a 14-week Amharic blockchain education program, producing and releasing 24 professional, in-depth educational videos (15–20 minutes each, 2 per week). These videos will use step-by-step explanations, Ethiopian real-world examples, animated graphics, and practical demonstrations. English subtitles will make the content accessible to global audiences.
Videos will be distributed on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Telegram, and WhatsApp groups. Targeted social media promotion and influencer partnerships will maximize reach. Viewers will also have the opportunity to interact directly with the team during two AMA events — one at the midpoint (Week 7) and one in the final week (Week 14) — to ask questions, clarify concepts, and provide feedback.

Ecosystem Impact
This project directly addresses a key barrier to adoption — the lack of local-language blockchain education. By producing culturally relevant, long-form lessons, we will bring thousands of Ethiopians into the blockchain space with confidence and safety. This will increase informed participation in the Cardano ecosystem, reduce scam risk, and strengthen community growth.
KPIs
Long-Term Potential
The series will be an evergreen educational resource and can be adapted for other African languages. Partnerships, sponsorships, and community-driven content can sustain and expand it beyond Catalyst funding.
