Connected Community
Who you’re targeting, how you’ll reach them, and why this matters for Cardano.
We target the Brazilian Cardano community, from newcomers to experienced members, developers, entrepreneurs, and blockchain enthusiasts. We will reach them via social media, strategic partnerships, and community channels like Telegram, Discord, and Substack. This is vital for Cardano as Brazil is Latin America's largest market with high crypto adoption potential. Strengthening trust, collaboration, and education locally will boost engagement, foster innovation, and connect Brazil with the global Cardano ecosystem.

Understanding the Problem
Brazil is the largest economy in Latin America, with more than 200 million inhabitants and a rapidly growing interest in cryptocurrencies. However, the Brazilian Cardano community remains underrepresented in the global ecosystem. One of the main reasons is the lack of frequent, culturally aligned activities that combine high-quality, relevant content with the strong interpersonal connections that Brazilian culture values.
Our first Cardano Hub Brazil project, funded by Catalyst, confirmed this reality through concrete data and lived experience. While online events such as Town Halls and X Spaces made it possible to reach people across the country, it was the in-person activities that created the deepest bonds, generated trust, and led to concrete collaborations. Conversations over coffee, networking dinners, and face-to-face workshops resulted in partnerships, mentorships, and new initiatives in a way that purely digital formats did not.
In Brazil, trust is often built through personal interaction. Without that trust, community members may remain passive consumers of content rather than becoming active contributors to governance, development, and advocacy for Cardano. This is a structural barrier to growing a sustainable, self-reinforcing Cardano presence in the country.
Why We Are Changing Our Approach
The new proposal for the Cardano Hub Brazil builds directly on the insights and metrics from our first cycle. We are intentionally shifting the model to prioritize in-person experiences while maintaining a strong digital layer to keep the community connected between meetings.
This is not a theoretical decision—it is based on:
We will replace the previous “two Town Halls and two X Spaces per month” format with a new structure:

Why This Matters for Cardano
Brazil is not only a massive potential user base—it is also strategically important for Cardano’s long-term decentralization goals. By creating a high-trust, locally embedded community, we ensure that:
Our proposal is unique in that it blends cultural understanding with strategic intent. We are not simply hosting events—we are building an ecosystem layer in Brazil that will sustain itself beyond the life of this project, continually feeding back into the global Cardano network.
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
This project strengthens Cardano’s presence in Brazil by consolidating an operating model aligned with the Brazilian cultural profile, which values trust-based relationships and in-person interactions as the foundation for partnerships and collaboration. The proposal combines strategic in-person gatherings, continuous Portuguese-language content, and integration with the global community, creating a local ecosystem that is more active, connected, and representative.
By holding 5 dinners/cocktails with Town Hall and 5 complementary X Spaces, we ensure regular exchange spaces that encourage qualified participation, updates on the ecosystem, and the dissemination of opportunities. The coworking sessions with English-language Cardano conversations add an innovative element: preparing the Brazilian community to engage directly in global forums and discussions, while attracting new audiences who are not yet familiar with Cardano.
The impact extends beyond the events themselves, as all generated content — recordings, summaries, and articles — will be published on Substack, increasing reach and serving as an accessible record for the community. This strategy creates a permanent archive, useful for both newcomers and as a historical record of the community’s development.
Partnerships with educational institutions, the National Blockchain Observatory, and a coworking space in São Paulo expand the reach of activities and open doors for collaborations that can lead to real-world applications of Cardano technology in academic, corporate, and governmental contexts.
Impact indicators will include:
The project contributes to the global ecosystem by diversifying geographic and cultural participation, increasing Brazilian representation in Cardano’s decision-making, debates, and international initiatives. It also creates the conditions for new leaders to emerge, strengthening decentralization and encouraging the creation of solutions tailored to the realities of emerging markets.
In summary, the positive impact manifests in three dimensions:
What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?
Ability to Deliver with Trust and Accountability
The successful execution of previous initiatives — including the Intersect Education and Multimedia Grant and the Cardano Community Hub in Brazil funded by Catalyst Fund 13 — demonstrates the solid foundation of trust, accountability, and delivery capacity established by Daniela Alves and Maria Carmo.
Both have a proven track record in the Cardano community, deep expertise in decentralized governance, and the ability to lead impactful projects that combine educational outreach with strategic partnerships. Their experience ensures not only the capacity to execute but also to manage resources transparently and deliver measurable results.
Key Achievements Under Intersect
1. Creation of GovChainLab

Apr 22 Intersect Event – GovChainLab also hosted the Cardano Budget Workshop in São Paulo: https://govchainlab.substack.com/p/construindo-o-futuro-da-cardano-workshops?utm_source=publication-search
Why This Track Record Matters
These achievements collectively demonstrate our ability to execute complex, multi-stakeholder projects and to engage strategic partners across different regions and sectors. From government agencies and universities to innovation hubs and community groups, our network of collaborators reflects both credibility and reach.
This proven capability ensures that the proposed activities in this new phase will be delivered with the same high standards of trust, accountability, and measurable impact, qualities that the Cardano community can rely on.

How does the cost of the project represent value for the Cardano ecosystem?
This project represents an efficient and high-impact use of resources, designed to directly expand Cardano’s presence and strengthen its community in Brazil through strategic, measurable, and sustainable initiatives. The costs are fully aligned with the scope, complexity, and strategic importance of the actions proposed. Each budget item has been carefully calculated to maximize return on investment for the Cardano ecosystem, prioritizing community building, high-quality content, and visibility in influential environments.
Our approach combines face-to-face engagement in São Paulo — Brazil’s main economic and business hub — with continuous online interactions and strategic partnerships, ensuring that Cardano’s message reaches influential stakeholders, developers, entrepreneurs, academics, and the broader blockchain-curious public.
1. Strategic Dinners/Coffee in São Paulo
The five dinners/cafés are not casual social events — they are curated gatherings for a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 participants each, bringing together leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, developers, and community members with high potential to contribute to Cardano’s adoption in Brazil.
Each event has a budget of USD 2,766, covering:
São Paulo was strategically chosen for being the country’s financial and innovation capital, hosting Brazil’s largest corporations, startups, and universities. The in-person format generates long-term value through stronger professional connections and deeper engagement with the ecosystem. These gatherings are not one-off events — they are designed to create lasting partnerships and actionable outcomes.
2. Weekly Cardano Conversations at a Coworking Space
We have allocated USD 1,200 per month to secure access for five community members to work twice a week in a São Paulo coworking space and participate in a 30-minute weekly conversation about Cardano.
This coworking environment will function as a physical hub for regular knowledge exchange, community networking, and onboarding of new participants into the Cardano ecosystem. It will also strengthen Cardano’s image as a serious, innovative, and collaborative blockchain project in the heart of Brazil’s business scene.
3. Facilitators for Twitter Spaces and Town Halls
Facilitators are essential to ensure that our Twitter Spaces and Town Halls maintain high quality, attract participants, and deliver engaging discussions. We have optimized the budget to ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
The budget covers moderators who will:
