[Campaign Category] Category Questions
Describe what makes your idea innovative compared to what has been previously funded (whether by you or others).
- Currently Vietnam relies on fragmented LMS and paper/PDF certificates—slow, easy to fake, no on-chain credentials.
- Our innovation: first Soulbound Proof-of-Knowledge system on Cardano for C2VN community LMS. Features: non-transferable SBTs, QR/TxID instant verification, and revocation support. Unlike previous funded pilots, this MVP is community-first, modular, open-source, with a clear roadmap to SDK adoption for training centers.
Describe what your prototype or MVP will demonstrate, and where it can be accessed.
The MVP will:
- Integrate an SBT issuance module into the C2VN learning platform.
- Provide a verification portal (QR/TxID lookup) for credential validation.
- Pilot with real C2VN learners (target ≥200 participants, ≥300 credentials).
- Release Aiken smart contracts, LMS adapter, and portal code on GitHub (MIT).
- Accessible via C2VN website and Cardano testnet/mainnet.
Describe realistic measures of success, ideally with on-chain metrics.
- On-chain:
- ≥300 PoK SBT issued.
- ≥150 learner wallets.
- 100% non-transferable enforcement (policy/script).
- Off-chain:
- ≥100 verification requests logged via portal.
- ≥70% learner satisfaction (survey).
- ≥2 institutions expressing Phase 2 interest.
[Your Project and Solution] Solution
Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
We will develop and deploy a pilot credentialing module within the Cardano2VN (C2VN) community LMS, integrating Soulbound Proof-of-Knowledge NFTs on Cardano. This replaces traditional paper/PDF certificates with secure, non-transferable on-chain credentials. Learners receive NFTs directly to their wallets, while employers and peers can instantly verify them via a public portal. The pilot demonstrates feasibility in a community setting, with open-source contracts, APIs, and verification tools laying the foundation for Phase 2: an SDK that enables universities and training centers to adopt without rebuilding.
How we address the problem:
- Integrate an SBT issuance module into the C2VN LMS to issue tamper-proof, non-transferable credentials by adopting the CIP-68 reference token standard. Each credential will embed the learner’s stake key hash in its datum, and the validator enforces that any spending transaction must preserve the same stake key — effectively preventing transfer to another wallet.
- Provide a verification portal (QR/TxID lookup) for instant validation by employers and community organizations.
- Support revocation through a multi-signature policy (e.g., Instructor + Admin) that can update the credential’s datum status from active to revoked. This creates an auditable on-chain revocation trail while preserving trust and reusability.
- Leverage Cardano smart contracts for immutability, transparency, and verifiable audit trails.

Why this approach:
- Eliminates forgery and slow manual checks in current systems.
- Reduces admin overhead via automated issuance and verification (target 50–70% time savings).
- First community-driven credentialing pilot on Cardano in Vietnam, providing an open-source model for wider adoption.
Who we will engage:
- Learners – Gain verifiable, permanent NFTs representing skills and achievements, boosting recognition.
- Employers – Instantly validate candidate credentials without intermediaries, improving trust.
- C2VN community – Early adopters, providing feedback and usage data for improvement.
- Cardano ecosystem – Access open-source contracts, adapters, and deployment guides for replication.
How we will prove our impact:
- On-chain: ≥300 SBT credentials issued in pilot, ≥150 wallets onboarded, ≥100 verification logs.
- Off-chain: ≥80% satisfaction in employer/learner surveys, ≥3 organizations expressing interest for Phase 2 SDK.
Why this is important to Cardano:
- Demonstrates Cardano in real-world credentialing beyond academic silos.
- Grows adoption in Vietnam through a community-first deployment, scaling later to training centers.
- Provides a reusable, open-source SDK roadmap for global replication.
[Your Project and Solution] Impact
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
In what way will the success of your project bring value to the Cardano Community?

- Open, reusable standard: Publishing Aiken smart contracts, LMS adapters, and verification portal modules (MIT license) for other projects to adopt.
- Operational efficiency: Automating issuance and verification, saving time for community admins and enabling instant trust by employers.
- Scalable model: First community-driven credential deployment in Vietnam, paving the way for SDK adoption by training centers in Phase 2.
How will you measure this impact?
- On-chain:
- ≥300 PoK SBTs minted during pilot.
- ≥150 learner wallets created and linked.
- ≥100 verification logs recorded.
- 100% policy adherence for non-transferability.
- Off-chain:
- ≥80% learner and employer satisfaction (survey).
- ≥3 organizations expressing Phase 2 adoption interest.
- Admin time savings ≥50% (pre/post study).

- Measurement methods:
- On-chain: via Cardano indexer/API dashboard.
- Off-chain: surveys, platform logs, admin reports.
- Aggregated data only, no PII stored on-chain.
How will you share the outputs and opportunities that result from your project?

[Final Pitch] Value for Money
How does the cost of the project represent value for the Cardano ecosystem?
Why this is a good use of funds?
- Direct, reusable outputs: We deliver open-source Aiken smart contracts for non-transferable PoK SBTs, a modular LMS issuance adapter for C2VN, a verification portal, and deployment guides. All assets are MIT-licensed, reusable by any Cardano project, multiplying impact beyond the pilot.
- Real adoption, measurable activity: Phase 1 targets ≥300 SBTs issued and ≥100 verification logs within the C2VN community LMS—proving feasibility before SDK packaging for broader adoption.
- Standards-aligned & future-proof: Metadata follows CIP-68/CIP-30; code in Aiken; APIs documented for replication and contributions.
Why the costs are reasonable?
- Local market rates: Development budgeted at 50 USD/h, aligned with Vietnam/SEA freelance rates, avoiding inflated Western costs.
- Lean scope: Reuse C2VN LMS and Cardano testnet/public APIs. No licenses, hardware, or paid SaaS requested. Budget focused on engineering, integration, and delivery.
- Milestone-based disbursement: Four gated milestones with outputs and acceptance criteria (repos, tx links, demo, survey results). Funds are only released upon proof of delivery.
Unit economics & compounding value
- With ~300 credentials targeted, the cost per credential is within a sustainable pilot range. As codebase is reused across future cohorts and institutions, cost per credential drops sharply.
- Operational savings for training admins: issuance/verification automated (≥50% time savings). Employers verify instantly, reducing fraud and admin load—benefits that persist post-grant.
Risk management & sustainability
- Non-custodial design: SBTs adopt the CIP-68 reference token standard with stake key binding. Each credential embeds the learner’s stake key hash in its datum, and the validator enforces that any transaction must preserve the same stake key — making transfers to another wallet invalid. All issuance starts on testnet, then migrates to mainnet after audits and tests.
- Transparent, open development: Public repos (MIT), API docs, dashboards, monthly progress updates. Community can audit, fork, and extend—ensuring long-term sustainability beyond Catalyst funding.
- Revocation & dispute handling: Credentials can be revoked via a multi-signature policy (Instructor + Admin) that updates the datum status from active to revoked. This ensures auditability, fairness, and a clear recovery path for lost keys.
- Resilient infrastructure: Verification portal uses a cache/indexer layer (Koios or self-hosted db-sync + Kupo) to ensure high availability, avoid vendor lock-in, and minimize query latency.
