GreenSnap is not just a dApp, but a foundational "Proof-of-Action" layer for sustainability projects on Cardano. By leveraging the eUTXO model and standards like CIP-0068, we can efficiently and cost-effectively mint NFTs that verify green actions. This solution unlocks the ability for other developers to easily integrate GreenSnap’s API, adding green action rewards to their own applications and fostering an ecosystem of environmentally-conscious dApps.
Describe what your prototype or MVP will demonstrate, and where it can be accessed.
Logic Flow: A user logs an action (off-chain), which is verified by a partner. Upon reaching a milestone, a smart contract (on-chain) mints a reward NFT. Technical Evidence: We will deliver open-source code on GitHub, detailed API documentation, and test reports. Scope: We will focus on building the core logic for action-logging and NFT rewards. Complex features like a Plastic Credit Market will be developed in a later phase to ensure feasible delivery.
Describe realistic measures of success, ideally with on-chain metrics.
On-Chain Metrics: The number of "Proof-of-Action" NFTs minted, the total number of green actions recorded on-chain, and the number of unique wallets interacting with the dApp. SMART Goal (6 months): Achieve at least 2,000 verified green actions and 200 active on-chain users post-mainnet launch. Technical Quality Metrics: We will publish a third-party smart contract audit report and provide complete technical documentation for the community.
Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
In Vietnam, plastic waste has become an urgent environmental challenge. Although awareness of sustainability is growing, there are still no clear mechanisms to recognize, reward, and sustain green behaviors. Individuals and organizations want to contribute but often don’t know where to start, while environmental initiatives lack long-term resources. One haunting image illustrates this crisis: a sea turtle with a deformed shell, trapped by a piece of hard plastic since it was young. That tiny strip of plastic not only destroyed a life but will remain in the environment for centuries, long after the turtle is gone.

GreenSnap was born with the goal of recognizing and rewarding people's green living behaviors and reducing single-use plastic waste through a reward point system and NFTs recorded on Cardano. The project encourages behavioral change, promotes sustainable lifestyles and easy-to-understand, familiar Web3 applications for Vietnamese people, designed around three core activities:
Users are encouraged to take eco-friendly actions such as refusing plastic bags, bringing personal cups, sorting waste at the source, or joining beach clean-ups.
Each action can be easily recorded through the GreenSnap app, where users earn points that can be redeemed for NFTs or rewards from reasonable businesses.
All points and rewards are transparently stored on the Cardano blockchain, ensuring trust, accountability, and long-term value for every green action.
Individuals, community groups, or organizations can launch environmental campaigns on GreenSnap, for example: bottle-for-tree exchanges, canal clean-ups, or plastic-reduction education programs.
Resources for these campaigns can be raised from the community, businesses, or dedicated funding organizations.
The allocation of funds and validation of campaign outcomes are transparent and verifiable, giving supporters confidence that their contributions make a real impact.
Businesses can participate through the GreenSnap Impact Membership, offering multiple tiers of sponsorship that provide consistent financial support for plastic collection and reduction initiatives.
In return, they gain access to a real-time impact dashboard, displaying metrics such as the amount of plastic recovered, the number of green actions recorded, and the reduction in carbon emissions.
Funds are distributed transparently to support waste collectors, community groups, and highly active individuals, ensuring fair compensation and sustainable operations.
Every contribution, activity, and outcome is verified on the Cardano blockchain, reinforcing corporate credibility and strengthening customer trust.
Here is the GreenSnap logic flow: Green Actions – Points – NFT Rewards:
1- Input: User Green Actions
Users perform environmentally friendly activities, which are recorded through the app. Each action earns GreenPoints based on its impact.

Recognition methods include:
2- Points & User Levels
GreenPoints accumulate over time. Users advance through levels, unlocking additional benefits.

3- Data Recording (On-chain + Off-chain)
Off-chain: Action data stored in the app server (photos, event logs).
On-chain (Cardano):

Real-World Application Scenarios
To demonstrate how GreenSnap can create tangible impact, below are two practical models of collaboration. These examples illustrate how blockchain-backed recognition of green actions can seamlessly integrate into everyday life, delivering value both to individuals and organizations.
Partnership Model with Coffee Shops
Objective: Encourage customers to bring their own cups, reuse bags, or dispose of trash properly.
Implementation:
A GreenSnap QR code is placed near the cashier or recycling bin. When a customer performs a green action (e.g., using a personal cup, sorting waste, refusing a plastic straw), the staff confirms it and the customer scans the QR code to log points.
GreenSnap can be linked with the café’s point-of-sale (POS) system. During checkout, if the customer selects a “green action,” the POS system sends the transaction to GreenSnap’s blockchain system for transparent recording.
After accumulating enough points, customers earn a “Green Coffee Hero” NFT — a digital proof of their sustainable habit. This NFT can then be redeemed for discounts, free drinks, or other partner rewards.
Partnership Model with Schools & Universities
Objective: To build environmental awareness among students and at the same time record transparent data.
Implementation:
Whenever students submit recyclable items (e.g., used batteries, plastic bottles), school staff use the GreenSnap app to scan a code or enter the quantity. Each student has a GreenSnap ID (linked to their blockchain wallet), ensuring data is securely and transparently recorded.
Green points are displayed publicly on the school’s leaderboard, ensuring fairness and transparency since the data is stored on-chain. Competitions such as “The Greenest Class” can be held monthly or by semester to foster engagement.
Upon reaching a milestone (e.g., 100 green actions), students receive a “Green Student” NFT a digital certificate of recognition. These NFTs can be redeemed for small scholarships, gifts, or even bonus academic credits depending on school policy.
These examples show how GreenSnap bridges behavioral incentives and blockchain transparency in practical settings. Whether it’s a coffee shop encouraging daily sustainable habits, or a school cultivating long-term environmental responsibility, the solution creates a trusted, gamified system that rewards real impact.
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
Impact on the Cardano Community:
Beyond payments and DeFi, GreenSnap leverages the Cardano blockchain to record and validate sustainable actions, turning every eco-friendly behavior into immutable, transparent, and verifiable data. This highlights Cardano’s unique potential as a Proof-of-Action platform.
GreenSnap envisions becoming a dedicated sustainability layer within the Cardano ecosystem, where eco focused tools and services can interconnect. Through open APIs, any dApp, whether in commerce, social networks, or gaming can embed green action recognition as a native feature. Imagine: a ride-sharing app rewarding passengers who opt for carpooling, or an online marketplace offering eco points for customers who choose recyclable packaging. By weaving environmental incentives into diverse applications, Cardano evolves into a blockchain that not only powers finance, but also drives sustainable lifestyles at scale.
GreenSnap plans to issue Plastic Credits as native tokens, enabling businesses and individuals to buy, trade, or store them to offset their environmental impact. This not only provides additional liquidity within the ecosystem but also positions Cardano within the global green finance movement.
GreenSnap engages users outside the crypto space, especially those passionate about sustainability. Through the experience of “act green – earn rewards – redeem benefits,” these users are naturally introduced to Cardano, expanding the community and strengthening Cardano’s brand story in global media.
Starting in Vietnam, the model can expand to Southeast Asia and other plastic-challenged regions, bringing new users, developers, and partnerships into Cardano across multiple geographies. Each expansion increases Cardano’s global presence and showcases its role in solving worldwide sustainability issues.
Every green action, reward, and campaign outcome is recorded on Cardano, proving the chain’s capability as a trust layer for accountability. This strengthens Cardano’s reputation as the blockchain for verifiable impact and anti greenwashing solutions.
Impact Measurement:
We will measure the impact of the project using the following key metrics:
Total eco-friendly actions (e.g., reluctant plastic bags, using reusable cups, waste sorting) verified through the GreenSnap app and stored on Cardano.
Tracking how many NFTs are created and delivered to users as digital certificates of their sustainable behaviors.
Growth of user base interacting with Cardano through GreenSnap and percentage of users continuously engaging over time.
Number of businesses joining the Impact Membership program and the total amount of funds committed to sustainability campaigns via Cardano.
Value of ADA and stablecoins donated to environmental campaigns, along with verifiable distribution records on the blockchain.
Number and scale of community-led campaigns (e.g., clean-ups, plastic for tree exchanges...) successfully funded and validated on Cardano.
Increase in local Cardano wallets created through GreenSnap, NFT ownership distribution, and new developer/partner contributing to the ecosystem.
Estimated CO₂ emission reductions and total kilograms/tons of plastic prevented or collected, linked with on-chain records for transparency.

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources
We have carefully planned our budget to ensure each item of work is covered, aligned with our milestones and timeline. The total requested funding is 54,500 ADA over 6 months.
Personnel Costs (Core Team): 34,000 ADA
Covers the salaries of the project’s core team, proportional to local and industry-standard rates for blockchain and software development:
Technical Infrastructure & Tools: 6,000 ADA
Community Engagement & Marketing: 8,000 ADA
Operations & Administration: 4,000 ADA
Reporting & Documentation: 2,500 ADA
Total Budget Requested: 54,500 ADA
To ensure financial feasibility and responsible planning, the budget has been calculated using an average conversion rate of 1 ADA = $0.71 USD, which reflects the mean market price of ADA over the past six months. While the current market price of ADA is higher, cryptocurrency markets remain inherently volatile.
By basing our calculations on the six-month average rather than the spot rate, we create a more conservative and reliable financial framework. This approach safeguards the project against short-term market fluctuations and ensures that planned deliverables can be achieved within the requested budget.
