Connected Community
Describe what makes your idea innovative compared to what has been previously funded (whether by you or others).
We target everyday citizens already gathering at large runs & busy malls small merchants gig workers athletes & families we partner with race organizers and venue managers to gain booth space & distribution rights trained volunteers hand out localized flyers & guide people to scan QR codes that open safe beginner flows (wallet setup, staking explainers community) why it matters cardano benefits from grassroots education in languages people actually speak delivered in places they already trust this converts curiosity into real wallets scans & community membership in a transparent low cost way
Describe what your prototype or MVP will demonstrate, and where it can be accessed.
Localize and design flyers with QR codes to official resources print test and scale batches.
Recruit and train volunteers to demo basics and gather feedback
Pilot in one stadium and one mall refine based on surveys
Scale distribution across multiple cities and events run short learn-and earn quizzes
Track QR scans, wallet growth indicators and community joins
Publish an open-source toolkit and final impact report
Describe realistic measures of success, ideally with on-chain metrics.
20k–40k flyers distributed across events/malls
10000+ in-person engagements (conversations, demos)
≥1,000 meaningful on chain/community actions via QR flows (wallet installs, staking pages visited, Discord/Telegram joins)
≥70% of surveyed participants demonstrate understanding of cardano basics
4+ active city partners; 100+ trained volunteers; multilingual asset pack published and reused
Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
Our solution is to harness the power of community sports specifically city running races across east africa as an innovative and engaging platform to educate people about the cardano ecosystem running events naturally attract thousands of participants and spectators from diverse backgrounds creating a powerful setting for outreach by embedding education and awareness activities within these races we can connect with a broad audience in a way that feels natural exciting, and memorable
the project will design and distribute multilingual educational materials in amharic, oromo, swahili, and tigrinya to ensure inclusivity across East African cities flyers banners and QR coded resources will explain blockchain basics cardano’s vision and practical applications like digital wallets decentralized identity, and financial empowerment In addition, trained volunteers will engage directly with race participants and spectators, guiding them through wallet setup, answering questions and encouraging them to join online cardano communities
to amplify reach we will integrate Cardano branding into the race environment through banners race kits and social media campaigns linked to the event this approach allows cardano to be positioned not only as a cutting edge blockchain technology but also as a socially responsible ecosystem investing in east africa’s future
Our solution also emphasizes scalability by starting with a pilot race in one city collecting measurable results through QR scans wallet downloads and community sign-ups, we can refine the model before expanding it across multiple East African cities the long term vision is to create a repeatable and cost efficient model where running events double as large scale blockchain education and adoption platforms
through this initiative, we bridge physical community engagement with digital transformation ensuring that awareness is not only raised but also converted into action wallet use community participation and grassroots advocacy cardano will gain visibility credibility and real adoption in a region poised for technological growth
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
this project meets people where they are in motion and together east african cities host vibrant running events and bustling malls creating perfect touchpoints for practical face to face learning Instead of abstract promises we provide hands on guidance what cardano is how to install a wallet how to keep seed phrases safe and where to connect with community by delivering content in amharic afaan oromo tigrinya swahili and english we remove language as a barrier to understanding and reduce the risk of misinformation
the impact stacks across three layers First awareness attractive flyers and race-day booths signal that cardano is present open, and community driven second activation QR codes route to vetted beginner flows tutorials and official channels immediately converting attention into safe onboarding third retention surveys follow up messages and local groups keep people engaged beyond the event, encouraging persistent learning responsible staking and participation in governance conversations
because all materials and playbooks are open source model is easy to replicate city to city that means catalyst’s initial funding multiplies other organizers can reuse the same designs translations and tracking setup to educate thousands more at minimal incremental cost
What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?
We keep logistics simple and repeatable content creation and translation are handled upfront with community reviewers checking clarity and cultural fit printing is staged a small pilot batch validates comprehension and design larger batches follow once proven volunteer training uses a concise deck and live demos equipping teams to explain wallets seed phrase security staking basics and how to avoid scams.
Operationally each activation has a checklist: venue permission, booth setup volunteer roster flyer stock QR test consent policy and data capture plan QR flows point to official sites and learning pages analytics capture scans by city and event surveys (paper or mobile) verify comprehension and satisfaction we mitigate risks by avoiding financial advice using trusted links only and never collecting private keys or sensitive data
feasibility is high because the strategy relies on proven practices print street-teams and simple digital funnels rather than complex tech If a venue or race changes we pivot to an equivalent location in the same city or a nearby one costs stay under control by bulk printing volunteer first staffing and reusing the same core template across languages the open source repo ensures transparency continuity and easy replication beyond this grant period

How does the cost of the project represent value for the Cardano ecosystem?
This concept converts modest print and activation costs into measurable onboarding at real world scale flyers are inexpensive multilingual and reusable volunteers multiply reach without heavy payroll by anchoring every touchpoint to verified links and beginner friendly explainers we reduce scams and churn saving newcomers time and money the pilot then scale approach ensures we only print big once content is validated, and the QR analytics prove which cities and messages perform best crucially all assets are open source after catalyst funds the first wave other community leaders can replicate the model with minimal additional cost extending impact far beyond this grant In short every ADA funds direct public engagement tracked learning outcomes and a toolkit that keeps working after the project ends
