Uganda’s meat chain lacks tamper proof transparency. TerekaID fixes poor records, weak disease control low trust. Buyers verify origin; fraud drops; safer food; smallholders gain finance and exports.
TerekaID is a Cardano based app. Each animal gets a unique ID (NFT). Health, movement, processing are logged. A QR code lets buyers trace meat farm-to-plate safer food and easier finance for farmers.

Supply Chain
Describe what makes your idea innovative compared to what has been previously funded (whether by you or others).
Most funded agri ideas on Cardano focus on crops or poultry ERPs. TerekaID is different: it delivers end to end livestock to meat traceability. Each animal gets a unique NFT ID; health, movement and slaughter data are written on-chain; every pack links to a public QR page so buyers can check origin and history. It goes beyond batch only tracking, supports multiple species, and targets smallholders and processors in Uganda. An open-source explorer lets consumers audit records first mover meat certification on Cardano. Not a farm app a proof-of-origin system linking farm, abattoir and retail.
Describe what your prototype or MVP will demonstrate, and where it can be accessed.
Prototype/MVP: A Cardano testnet dApp that mints an NFT per animal, logs health/movement/slaughter on-chain, and shows a public QR trace page from farm to slaughter. Access: the testnet traceability explorer (QR-linked) and the open GitHub repo (contracts, UI, docs). Community testing: register 50+ simulated animals logs more than 3 health events scan QR codes to confirm data try wallet flows (one ADA tx/farm) file issues on GitHub; help track uptime and scan-error rates. We’ll publish scan analytics, pilot data, and user feedback.
Describe realistic measures of success, ideally with on-chain metrics.
Success = real on-chain use you can verify. Targets: 35–50 animals registered (NFT mints), ≥3 health logs/animal, full lifecycle for 4–5 farms; ≥1 ADA wallet tx per farm; 100+ consumer QR scans; trace explorer ≥80% uptime; public testnet with 50+ simulated animals first. Community can check the testnet explorer and GitHub, and we’ll publish dashboards for mints, logs, tx success rate, uptime, unique wallets, and scan counts.
Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
How we see the problem
Uganda’s livestock/meat chain lacks a trustworthy way to register animals, track health/movement, and prove meat origin. Records are manual and easy to fake; processors/consumers can’t verify quality, hurting safety, prices, and exports.
Our solution
TerekaID is a Cardano dApp that assigns each animal a unique on-chain ID (NFT), logs health, movement, and processing data, and links packs to a public QR page anyone can scan to see the farm-to-slaughter history. This makes proof of origin and handling visible, building trust for farmers, processors, and buyers.
Why we approach like this and why we chose Cardano
Who we engage
What we’ll actually ship (six month MVP)
Architecture (concise)
Cardano NFTs/metadata for identity and events; Plutus contracts; MeshJS for wallet UX; React/React Native app; QR + explorer; IPFS/Firebase/Postgres for large/off-chain fields; Atala components as needed.
Why this is new vs prior work
Most agri proposals (and one poultry ERP path) center on batch tracking or farm management. TerekaID targets multi-species, meat-grade, processor-led traceability with per-animal IDs and public QR, which is rare on Cardano and in Africa.
How we’ll prove impact (measurable, on-chain)
Why this will work in the field
The flow is mobile-first and low-bandwidth; non-critical data is off-chain (fast), while proofs stay on-chain (trust). Farmers can register/log in a few steps; processors print QR at pack time; consumers verify with one scan.
Community testing and access
We’ll publish the testnet explorer and GitHub early so the community can:
Who we are
Veterinary + blockchain lead (Uganda field work) with frontend dev and a to-be-hired Plutus/backend engineer; community liaison runs training and feedback loops—balanced to ship an MVP and a real pilot.
Scope and budget fit
₳45k over 6 months funds the three milestones above; spend is concentrated where risk lives (contracts, explorer, pilot), with clear PoA per milestone.
Bottom line: TerekaID turns livestock identity and meat traceability into verifiable public proofs on Cardano—solving a real safety/trust gap and creating reusable building blocks for RWA teams after us.
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
What impact this creates for Cardano
TerekaID turns livestock and meat events into public, verifiable on-chain records (NFT per animal + QR trace page). That delivers a clear, real-world Cardano use case in African agriculture—bringing new wallets, transactions, and visible benefits (origin, safety, trust) to non-crypto users. It’s designed to be replicated across emerging markets, not a one-off pilot.
Who benefits (ecosystem-wide)
How we’ll measure impact (quant + qual)
We commit to auditable, on-chain metrics and supporting evidence the community can check:
These KPIs align to what voters and reviewers can independently verify: mints, event logs, tx IDs, QR scan counts, uptime snapshots, and feedback artifacts linked in each milestone.
How the community will access, test, and reuse outputs
Why this is meaningful impact (beyond one project)
Transparency & sharing plan
Each milestone publishes Proof of Achievement artifacts: on-chain tx links, repo commits/tags, demo videos, scan analytics, user feedback, and deployment logs—so the community can see what was built, test it, and reuse it. Final docs include farmer guides, API specs, and deploy steps.
Answering reviewer concerns up-front
Past feedback asked us to make impact concrete and shareable—this plan does that with specific KPIs, public repos, and community testing. We also backfill workshops and usability reports to ensure adoption in low-tech settings.
Bottom line
Success here equals measurable new usage on Cardano (mints, logs, txs, scans), open assets other builders can fork, and a repeatable blueprint for verifiable supply chains in emerging markets. That’s tangible, auditable impact the community can test—and reuse.
What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?
Why we can deliver (capability)
How we prove feasibility (working MVP, real pilots)
Trust & accountability (how funds and delivery are governed)
How we validate feasibility (evidence the approach works)
Risk management (named + mitigated)
Processes that keep us accountable
Why this team best fits the job
Answering reviewer concerns up-front
Bottom line
Capability = local domain expertise + Cardano stack + defined roles. Feasibility = staged testnet→pilot with measurable, public proof. Accountability = open-source, milestone-gated funds, and PoA artifacts the community can verify. That’s a delivery model reviewers can trust.

Why this reads as value for money: the spend maps line by line to auditable outputs (code, txs, scans, uptime, training), prioritizes delivery over overhead, and leaves reusable open-source assets that other Cardano teams can fork.
How does the cost of the project represent value for the Cardano ecosystem?
Why this is a good use of funds
₳45,000 delivers a testable, on-chain traceability MVP (NFT per animal, QR explorer, farm→processor pilot) with auditable PoA gating—funds only flow after verifiable milestones. That aligns with Catalyst’s Milestone/PoA rules and protects the treasury.

Bottom line
You’re buying a public, verifiable pilot and reusable primitives that move Cardano’s RWA narrative from theory to practice—at a cost anchored to global contractor benchmarks and fair local wages. That’s defensible value for money.
