Describe what makes your idea innovative compared to what has been previously funded (whether by you or others).
We developed an MVP of our Inheritance DApp (youtu.be/B3GIwvt1jCA) and tested it with Cardano users and inheritance firms to understand their challenges. Based on feedback, we’re building a redesigned version with DeFi integration, executor permissions (to draft wills without asset access), and a user-friendly, law-compliant architecture. This is an unique approach, as our solution bridges Web3 and traditional estate planning, enabling secure management of inheritance both for digital and real-world assets. Enables the usage of this solution by insurance firms in the real world.
Describe what your prototype or MVP will demonstrate, and where it can be accessed.
We will develop a prototype of the final front-end for our application, incorporating customer feedback and leveraging the new architecture built from the functional requirements identified during testing of our initial simplified solution.
Starting with this prototype allows us to gather user feedback early, confirm that critical product requirements are met, and make targeted improvements before finalizing the smart contracts and developing off-chain code. This approach reduces development risk, ensures a user-centric design, and accelerates delivery of a high-quality final product.
Describe realistic measures of success, ideally with on-chain metrics.

Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
Crypto Inheritance does not work, and GenWealth is here to fix it. The story of Stephan Thomas, a crypto user like you and me who lost access to his seed phrase and, with that, lost $700 million in Bitcoin, is just one of many.
In fact, around 20% of all Bitcoin supply is estimated to be lost forever due to the lack of effective recovery and inheritance solutions. This is not just a Bitcoin problem; it’s an issue faced by nearly all blockchains, including Cardano. Bitcoin’s history shows us both the scale of the problem and the urgent need for user-friendly, secure solutions for Inheritance and recovery.
VanEck estimates that $6 trillion in crypto assets will pass through the inheritance process over the next 20 years. Without reliable solutions, much of this wealth risks being lost. GenWealth is building that solution: a crypto inheritance and recovery DApp that leverages smart contracts, to empower you to define your own inheritance rules and create a “Plan B” for your crypto.
How GenWealth Works
For inheritance, you can create a blockchain-based will where you can set rules, define beneficiaries, assign specific assets for a beneficiary, and/or leave them a certain percentage of your assets. When the time comes, Beneficiaries simply connect their wallet to claim their share.
For recovery, you can set “safety wallets” you control and define an inactivity deadline. If triggered, these safety wallets can be used to regain access to your assets. All of this is completely self-custodial: you connect your wallet to the DApp, and smart contracts handle the rest, without intermediaries.
We have already launched an initial solution (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3GIwvt1jCA) tested through one-on-one sessions with cryptocurrency users and inheritance firms. These firms want to use GenWealth to manage real-world inheritances, considering the potential to reduce Inheritance execution delays and costs, where currently, the manual process can consume 3–10% of an inheritance, and commonly takes several months up to years to be completed. Our solution also reduces the cost of updating wills and provides a more secure, accurate record of the deceased’s wishes.
Our Vision
We aim to work with inheritance firms to create a flexible solution that serves both Web3 and real-world traditional estate planning. Merrill Lynch estimates that $84 trillion in assets will pass through the inheritance process over the next 20 years. Even capturing a small fraction of that could make inheritance simpler, faster, and more affordable for millions of people worldwide.
Our solution for inheritance firms will include the DApp, an interactive calculator that pulls blockchain data to streamline compliance, and integration with tokenization solutions. This allows firms to tokenize real-world assets on Cardano and manage them directly through the platform.
Why This Proposal Matters
From our first round of testing, we identified the need to redesign our architecture to meet key functional requirements from both crypto users and professionals in the long run.
Instead of deploying our initial version to mainnet, we are building a new version with future-proof architecture that supports critical features such as simplified DeFi integration and executor permissions, which allow professionals to verify and manage wills without ever controlling user assets. ( Find more here:https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1ApMOt_d-P30g3_wgHSd-BMw8C7xTsrhGuDMGt4BImgM/edit?slide=id.g3365b371678_0_75#slide=id.g3365b371678_0_75) )
This concept proposal will fund the development of a complete front-end based on the new architecture, enabling further testing with crypto users and inheritance firms. This will allow us to validate requirements, refine the user experience, and ensure the architecture is solid before committing significant resources to smart contract and off-chain development.
Here is our long-term roadmap:
Why Cardano
Cardano’s technology is ideally suited for this use case. Built in a functional programming language, it offers both high security and reduced potential for bugs, essential for financial applications. Cardano has operated continuously for over seven years, is designed for individual responsibility and empowerment, and is ISO 20022 compliant, the same messaging standard used by banks worldwide, enabling seamless future integration with traditional financial institutions.
This proposal represents one small but vital step toward a much larger vision, securing the future of inheritance and recovery on Cardano. Your support will help make that vision a reality.
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
**Medium-Term Impact **
Our goal is to launch a self-custodial inheritance and recovery DApp on mainnet, an essential tool as blockchain adoption matures. We believe the solution will be widely adopted for it’s ease of use, self-custodial properties, high-security by leveraging your wallet signature, and for being compliant with inheritance law. Similar to a wallet, you have all control over your assets, but you can plan for Inheritance and recovery, two crucial additional features.
The medium-term potential is substantial. With ADA’s circulating supply valued at $36B and 35% of holders self-custodying their assets (University of Illinois), there is approximately $12.6B in ADA potentially at risk. Capturing just 20% of that market would mean securing $2.52B in ADA against loss.
Cardano has 4.8 Million wallet addresses, if only 10% of the wallets, use GenWealth, 480 000 wallets, would generate around 17.28 Million transactions related to Inheritance and Recovery.
Long-Term Impact
Over time, we will expand GenWealth’s capabilities to integrate with Bitcoin DeFi and, most importantly, serve real-world inheritance firms.
Bitcoin has a huge “lost assets” issue, with 20$ of the supply lost forever due to lack of Inheritance and Recovery mechanism. In that ecosystem, over $707 billion is held in self-custody. Capturing even 5% of that market represents $35.35 billion in bitcoin secured on Cardano, plus the potential of bringing 1.5 million additional users.
Securing even a 1.5% share of global real-world inheritance flows could represent $63B in assets per year being moved on Cardano. Beyond transaction volume, this would catalyze large-scale tokenization of real-world assets on the network, creating lasting economic activity.
Short-Term Impact
While the immediate impact of this proposal will be more limited, focused on a specific component of the larger solution, it will lay the groundwork for the medium and long-term vision. This stage will also serve as an important bridge to begin engaging inheritance professionals and firms, demonstrating the design, functionality, and value of the final product.
By supporting this proposal, we move one step closer to delivering a solution that will protect billions in assets, drive tokenization of real-world value, and position Cardano at the forefront of secure, cheap, and fast asset inheritance. We know it's an ambitious vision, but we are willing to dream big, and work hard to make it happen.
What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?
Regarding feasibility, it’s a priority for GenWealth to achieve a strong product-market fit.
To ensure this, our development approach prioritizes building the front-end first, enabling us to test it directly with our target users (crypto holders and inheritance professionals). This allows us to refine the user experience and implement significant improvements before committing resources to smart contract development. It will enable allow us to indentify if we missed any important functional requirement.
As proof of our ability to deliver, we have already built and launched the first version of our DApp. This MVP has been instrumental in gathering practical feedback from potential users, create the functional requirements for a more useful solution, and demonstrate that our core technology for decentralized inheritance and recovery is not only viable but highly promising.
Our team brings a unique combination of expertise in both the inheritance industry and technology and blockchain development.
We have previously launched an online will creation app in the UK and partnered with inheritance firms and professionals.
On the blockchain side, we have deployed two protocols on Cardano mainnet, including the Aneta BTC and the KeyPact multi-signature wallet, and we are pioneering smart wallet technology on Cardano, the foundation for our inheritance and recovery solution.
We are also part of the CV Labs Accelerator Program, which provides access to exceptional resources, industry expertise, and professional networks. Coupled with our strong relationships with inheritance professionals, we have a clear roadmap for both product development and go-to-market execution.

How does the cost of the project represent value for the Cardano ecosystem?
Our proposal delivers significant functionality at competitive rates, well below the market average in our region. By optimizing resources and leveraging a highly experienced team, we ensure excellent results while keeping costs lean, without compromising quality.
However, more than costs, we need to look at what are the potential benefits for Cardano.
Global Opportunity
According to VanEck, over the next 20 years, $6 trillion in crypto assets will pass through the inheritance process. Our vision is to ensure these transfers happen securely, transparently, and efficiently , starting with Cardano and Bitcoin, then expanding to other ecosystems.
Real-World Integration
We are not just building for Web3 users. We are working with inheritance firms and legal professionals to make sure our solution is useful and improves their current processes by solving existing challenges.
This could be very impactful considering, $84 trillion in total global assets will be transferred between generations in the next 20 years.
Firms using GenWealth will be tokenizing real-world assets on Cardano when creating these wills, so this solution is a huge opportunity to attract a lot of tokenized assets to Cardano and for Cardano to become an important backbone in a technology that will have a significant real-world impact.
Why This Matters for Cardano
Even a small market share of the inheritance industry would result in substantial on-chain activity:
Cardano will be adopted, if we are able to build useful products, with a good user experience that leverage blockchain in the background. That is what we're doing, building a solution, that can help improve many of the inneficiencies and challenges faced by the Inheritance Industry.
Incentives for Adoption
Web3 Users: A familiar wallet experience enhanced with recovery and inheritance features via smart contracts. This reduces the risk of asset loss while maintaining usability.
Inheritance Firms: Enhanced security through blockchain immutability, faster execution (reduced delays in locating assets and beneficiaries), and lower costs by cutting execution expenses (currently 3–10% of estate value) significantly.
In short, supporting this proposal means supporting an important step in a high-impact, low-cost initiative that not only solves an important problem in Cardano and Bitcoin (Crypto Inheritance and Recovery), but that improves real world Inheritance processes, bringing real world assets and utility into Cardano.
