The global cycling market, worth over €60 billion annually, has a critical gap: no universal identity system. Unlike cars, which are tracked by a VIN from factory to scrapyard, bicycles become “invisible” once they leave production.

This fragmentation creates inefficiencies and lost opportunities for every stakeholder:

• Manufacturers & Brands: Cycling manufacturers and brands are currently struggling with overstocking and very low margins. Bankruptcies are now commonplace. Customer relationships end at the point of sale. There’s no reliable way to trace products, manage warranties efficiently, sell bicycles bundled with high margin recurring services, captive finance solutions or build long-term engagement for upgrades and services. This is hard or impossible without a globally unique bicycle ID.
• Retailers: Inventory is hard to manage, overstocking is a problem, margins are super thin and retention opportunities go untapped. Retailers need additional high margin revenues.
• Riders: The most affected group. Without a digital passport, ownership is hard to prove, stolen bikes are rarely recovered, used bicycles are quickly losing value, and riders miss access to digital services that could enhance their experience.
