Cardano lacks secure, open-source multi-way bridges to other chains, hindering DeFi activity, limiting growth, and making it hard for projects to attract cross-chain resources
We offer a secure, verifiable bridge using Hyperbridge (already connected to major chains) to attract liquidity, link Cardano to DeFi hubs, and expand its cross-chain market reach
This is the total amount allocated to Bridge between Cardano, Polkadot, Ethereum and its L2s .

Describe your established collaborations.
We have an established collaboration with the Web3Foundation, having been funded by them (https://x.com/web3foundation/status/1833972947880427878?s=46))
Describe funding commitments.
We were funded last year by the Web3Foundation and Scytale Digital (https://x.com/web3foundation/status/1833972947880427878?s=46)..) They participated in our seed round.
Describe your key performance metrics.

Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
Our proposed solution is a cryptographically secure and verifiable interoperability protocol that uses Hyperbridge (https://hyperbridge.network/)) (a customised parachain connected to Polkadot) as a co-processor. It will include components such as:
More about ISMP:
ISMP (Interoperable State Machine Protocol) is designed to improve and secure cross-chain communication and operations by facilitating "GET-like" and "POST-like" requests between all chains under the security of the Polkadot Relay chain. By leveraging state proofs, it relieves the relay chain of the burden of message passing, contributing significantly to the scalability of chains.
Inspired by HTTP, it aims to be a similar standard for introperablit in the multi-chain environment. The develpment of ISMP ws funded by Web3Foundation grant (https://x.com/PolytopeLabs/status/1686344692017852416)..)
You can find a link to the ISMP repository here: https://github.com/polytope-labs/hyperbridge/tree/main/modules/ismp/core
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
Building this secure, verifiable multi-chain bridge will serve as a reliable way to attract liquidity and exchange value with other ecosystems. It will connect Cardano to Polkadot, Ethereum and it’s L2 and the others of the 11 chains Hyperbridge currently supports.
What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability? How do you intend to validate if your approach is feasible?
We have already built this for many other chains, facilitating connections between them. Our co-founders are former Ethereum, Parity and Composable engineers and experts in blockchain interoperability. After launching our product, we raised over $5 million from investors and the community, signalling a vote of confidence in our ability to deliver.

Please provide a cost breakdown of the proposed work and resources
How does the cost of the project represent value for the Cardano ecosystem?
The proposed 1,000,000 ADA investment facilitates the integration of Hyperbridge, a proven solution already connecting multiple other chains. This demonstrates efficiency by leveraging existing technology and expertise. The successful implementation, validated by clear milestones and acceptance criteria, ensures accountability and high-quality deliverables. Compared to developing a bridge solution from scratch, utilising Hyperbridge and the team's prior experience represents a cost-effective approach, delivering substantial ecosystem benefits for the invested ADA.
After these milestones are completed, a messaging relayer between Cardano and Hyperbridge and an off-chain indexer will be built. Also, a general message passing bridge and a multichain token bridge fully secured by Polkadot will be built.
