Team

The Wildcard project is delivered by Polycrypt GmbH, a TU Darmstadt spin-off with deep expertise in cryptography, blockchain protocols, and production-grade software development. Our team blends cutting-edge research with proven execution experience, ensuring that every part of the proposal is delivered to the highest standard.

  • Hendrik Amler – Co-founder & CEO, Master’s degree in Computer Science (IT Security focus). Oversees team and project management, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with project goals.
  • Jens Winkle – Core Developer & Software Architect Master’s in IT Security from TU Darmstadt. Expert in Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs). Joined Polycrypt in 2022, contributing to Wildcard’s architecture after writing his master’s thesis on a Wildcard-related topic.
  • Steffen Rattay – Core Developer & Software Architect Working on Wildcard since its inception in 2020. Brings extensive experience from the Perun State Channel project (since 2019) at Polycrypt.
  • Philipp-Florens Lehwalder - PhD student and researcher at PolyCrypt specializing in cryptography and security verification.
  • Sasan Safai – Project & Product Manager Master’s in Business Information Systems. Responsible for ensuring timely delivery of valuable features and maintaining alignment between technical work and user needs.
  • Prof. Sebastian Faust – Co-founder & Research Lead Full professor at TU Darmstadt, leading the Applied Cryptography and Blockchain Lab. Co-inventor of Proofs of Space (basis for Chia), state channels, and virtual channels. His research underpins the protocols used in Wildcard.
